Description
Welcome to the Home of Akasha — A Creative Off-Grid Sanctuary in the Mountains
Hello, and thank you for stopping by. My name is Akasha. I'm an artist originally from Holland, now living solo in the serene mountains near Alozaina (Málaga, Spain), in a place I helped build with love, hands, and heart. Together with my former partner, we created two cob houses and a charming pallet house — all nestled within nature’s quiet embrace.
Today, I live here alone. The land is full of spirit, beauty, and potential… but maintaining it has become too much for one pair of hands. I’m reaching out to the Workaway community for support — not just with practical help like fixing a leaking roof or tending the garden — but with the shared energy of people who believe in helping others rise, restore, and keep creating.
If you’ve ever felt the call to make a difference in someone’s real, grounded life — this might be your moment.
About the Land and Lifestyle
Located just 3km from the friendly village of Alozaina, my off-grid home is surrounded by wild olive trees, mountains, and a peaceful stillness that many find healing. Though remote, the essentials are nearby: shops, cafés, banks, and a medical centre. Málaga, Ronda, and the incredible Caminito del Rey are all within easy reach for weekend adventures.
Life here is simple and natural. Water comes from the rain. Power comes from the sun. And much of the magic comes from the people who pass through and leave a piece of themselves behind.
What’s Offered in Return
A cozy 1-bedroom strawbale house to stay in
Outdoor compost toilet
A simple bucket shower and solar-heated tube shower
Peace, connection, and a slower pace of life
A few hours of help per day (no meals provided)
Please note: this is a low-resource lifestyle — we live lightly here, with mindfulness around water and energy use. It's not luxury, but it's real, honest, and full of life.
Special Invitation for Artists
As an artist myself, I deeply believe in beauty as medicine. I invite fellow creatives to contribute to this space by painting one of our many water containers or leaving a small artistic gift for the land. If you're looking for an inspiring place to create, recharge, and connect with nature, you're most welcome.
Languages Spoken: Dutch, German, English, Spanish
If this speaks to your heart — I’d love to hear from you.

Who I’m Hoping to Welcome
I’m looking for nature-loving, eco-conscious helpers — individuals or couples — who are handy with tools, land work, or creative problem-solving. You don’t need to be an expert, just reliable and willing. What matters most is a kind heart, a steady presence, and a genuine desire to be part of something meaningful.
Whether you're on a journey of your own, seeking stillness, or simply wanting to give your energy to a good cause, your help would mean more than you know.
I welcome helpers who love being in nature and have an interest in off grid dry land living and diy. I welcome couples with basic building skills .I also need help with clearing the land, pruning trees and soon picking olives .I don't do food so I expect only a few hours a day . So there is time for holiday as well.Languages

He is very respectful. Left the house in immaculate condition. He takes his own initiative to do the job.
I can really recommend him.
