    Description

We are Ewa and Ted and are on a small old farm property on the edge of the wilderness in Northern Nova Scotia. We garden, work the land, create art and are slowly working on improvements to the old farm property. We have much to offer as active artists and builders. We love our little 25 acre piece of paradise and have renovated our 200 year old farmhouse, planted fruit trees and have more plans for our barn and outdoor spaces. You will love it here!

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We are artists, organic gardeners, woodworkers, builders, activists, hobbyists and much more and have travelled quite a bit. We love good food and learning about people and cultures. We are 'people' persons and are very socially conscious and that matters to us...

  • Help

    Help

Help with gardening, woods paths, fruit trees, landscaping, berries, minor repairs, firewood, and other small (mostly outdoor) projects around the barn and property. Some work would be independent with direction from us and other would be working alongside one or both of us.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

We have a small rustic 'apartment' with two large windows overlooking the property upstairs in our barn separate from the main house. It is very simple but homey and the other facilities (washroom, and kitchen) are fully available but only in the main house. We will provide food. Suppers would be planned together and the other meals may or may not be together depending on the day... We are good cooks and open to other good cooks! We are vegetarian and love good, healthy, tasty food. We are open to meat eaters who are conscientious about what they eat.

    What else ...

The local community is great with theater, music, a farmers market and more. We are a 10 minute drive from there and go in a few times a week. We are also about 20 minutes from several great beaches...There are miles of forest to explore adjacent to our property. We are conscientious, respectful, caring, generous people and would expect our "workaways" to be the same. We want to be good stewards of our land and that which is adjacent to us and are very aware of being on the traditional territory of Mi'kma'ki and the Mi'kmaq peoples.
