*️️️*️️️*️️️ German speaking workawayer needed for April 2019 *️️️*️️️*️️️

This is parental democratic school for kids age 11 to 15. We love to have international guests at the school, to spend some time with the kids and possibly teaching them something interesting.

In our school we learn only for the pleasure of learning, without marks, punishments, school questionings or homeworks. We want to recover the original meaning of the word "school", derived from the Greek term "Scholé" (i.e. leisure time free from work, that could be devoted to one's own passions, including the "studium", the love for knowledge).

The students are at the centre of our project, and all the people involved in the school (parents, friends, relatives, teachers, educators, various guests, etc.) help them to cultivate their passions, self-esteem and enthusiasm for learning, so that they can trace their own path in learning and in life.

Our school is active for 4 days a week in a little town near Alba (Cn, Italy), in a little building surrounded by nature and amongst the green hills of the Langhe and Roero area (Unesco World Heritage Site).

The school is self-managed by the families, mainly on a voluntary basis.

  • Help

    Help

You will be asked to stay at the school with the kids, following their ordinary schedule, with the aim of helping the teachers and support the students in their daily activities, mainly by speaking in English with them.

We are not a "normal" school, so we have many labs based on active learning, and only a few frontal lessons. Normally you won't be left alone with the students, unless you wish to organize some specific labs or activities with them, depending on your interests, skills and passions.

Here's a message from our students:

“We would like our guests to speak English with us, so that we can practice in a fun way. We welcome patient and nice people, possibly not shy, ready to help us and play with us too. We are very open to learn all sorts of things that you’d like to suggest us, provided it’s something you love, and something you’re good at. We already have many interesting workshops in our school (History&Literature, Arts&Crafts, Maths, ScienceLab, Architecture&Art, Walks in the nature, Films, Theater performances, etc.), but we’re always ready to experience new stuff. Our school is in a very beautiful place, surrounded by woods, green hills and vineyards, that’s why we spend a lot of time outdoors, even in Winter, and we’re never tired of staying outside in the nature. We ofter take walks to explore all the beautiful places that surround our school. We look forward to meeting you!”

The English level of the kids may vary a lot, from absolute beginners to bilingual kids, but there will always be somebody who will translate for you if you need it.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We expect you to be an easygoing and active person, curious and open-minded, happy to know new people and experience a new way of life, ready to live in a lively and noisy environment, not scared by the teens up-and-downs, eager to teach interesting things and always ready to learn something new. And, of course, you must love kids, and be happy to be surrounded by many of them.
