Description
We are a Franco Irish family of 5 based in the south west of Ireland near the gorgeous rural town of Clonakilty. 2 of our 3 kids are now gone to college so mainly 3 of us at home during the week, our youngest is 15. My husband and I have full time jobs but we have a keen interest in permaculture and can be considered "part time farmers" since we have animals we care for (3 horses currently), 1 dog and 2 cats and we are constantly planting trees or designing and growing our garden with biodiversity in mind. We love the outdoor and sports (rugby, horse-riding, swimming, running, cycling etc) which is really just our way of maintaining social connections with our friends and family.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We live in a beautiful and vibrant part of Ireland with incredible sceneries of rolling hills and stunning beaches, 6 km from the small town of Clonakilty. The town has all basic amenities with a great atmosphere with pubs and restaurants, coffee shops, art galleries. It has a culture of traditional music and it hosts an array of sporting clubs (gym, yoga, indoor pool martial arts etc.) and many outdoor activities (surfing, riding, hiking, cycling, hillwalking etc.). It offers both a small rural feel and an international vibe as many cultures and nationalities are represented here. Bus links can connect you to other surrounding towns and bigger cities. We are more than happy to include you and introduce you to activities that we take part in through our hobbies and show you some places if we go places at the weekends if you don't have a car etc.
Help
Ideally we'd like to host a fun caring person with horse riding and horse care experience as this would be a key part of the daily work (feed them , clean them, check on them, ride them) and who is also willing to do some cooking/ meal prep and help with some house cleaning through out the week- Our pets do come into the house so a pet friendly person is a must :) - We are looking for someone to join our family as early as the end of August and for a duration of 6 months to 1 year.
