    Description

Sailing from Shelter Bay to Guna Yala (San Blas) and back.

This isn’t a very professional op. I’ve recently bought my first boat (a 42 foot steel-hull ketch) and am currently doing some work and home-making on her near Colon.

I’m looking for some crew to help for the sail to San Blas and back. Leaving at the start of October for a 3 week trip. Could also do with some help with maintenance at the end of September.

Sailing experience preferred but not completely necessary. Cooking skills would be also be a plus as I’m a little hopeless.

3 berths available. A “double” V berth, a single on the sofa and a double in the aft cabin. There’s also a hammock on deck. I would sleep in one of these ideally but can move depending on sleeping arrangements.

I’ve done a reasonable bit of sailing but I’m new to the boat and the area so this’ll be a learning experience x

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

I’m from the UK unfortunately so you’d be forced to experience British culture…

The Culture of the indigenous Guna people in Guna Yala (San Blas) is significantly more interesting though.

I can teach what I know about sailing.

Some help with provisioning and prepping the boat, an extra hand to hold the wheel and pull some ropes while sailing and a bit of cooking.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

The islands are very beautiful for exploring and snorkelling.

Cleanliness would be appreciated, at least as much as possible on a boat.

There is a small gecko that lives on the deck. We generally keep out of each other’s way but he’s a chill guy to hang with sometimes and he eats the flies.
