Description
Hi there! 🌿
Welcome in my cosy home. Want to help me doing some home improvement, DIY’s and cleaning the house? I offer a short but super nice WorkAway experience, with a maximum stay of one week.
After doing some chores in the morning it’s a kind of pause and relax at my place: Oostvoorne (my village) is a place where you can slow down, unwind, make long or short walks in the forest, take the bus to the beach, or at my place maybe take a seat at the drawing and painting table, do some cooking. Are you good with pizzadough? Or steak? Very welcome to use my Ooni gas pizza oven on the balcony :):)
I live alone, but I really enjoy having someone around from time to time; I function better with people in the house. So I’m looking for someone who is easygoing, respectful, and comfortable sharing a calm space. A bit of a morning person(s) would be awesome. But no problem if you’re not.
You can be introverted or extroverted, both are very welcome. Socializing is nice, but in silence doing our own thing in the same space can be just as good!
Please note that I am hestitant with welcoming (single traveling of two travelling) men into my home. Thanks for understanding if I say no to your request.
I live in a small and cozy home, where you will have your own room (with a bunk bed)(and a small desk).
I live in the village of Oostvoorne, about a 10-minute walk from the center. The area is beautiful: you can enjoy long walks in the forests, dunes, and at the beach. I also have an (older) bicycle you can use to explore the surroundings or cycle to the beach and woods.
In exchange for the work, I offer a peaceful place to stay, good conversations, and the opportunity to recharge. From time to time I like to cook and bake, experiment and taking my time to be creative in the kitchen. Welcome if you’d like to do that too.
You have full excess to the kitchen. I provide bread, cheese, sweet and savoury bread toppings and of course vegetables and potatoes.
I require you to have a basic level of hygiene. Don’t be alarmed, I am not a neat freak and am quite sloppy actually, but when you travelled you probably know what I am talking about:)
I registered hosting families as a possibility, because I wanted to say kids are welcome! However as my house is small, I can only provide for one adult and one child.
If this resonates with you, feel free to reach out and tell me a bit about yourself! Please state what you’d like to contribute too. I am not a demanding host, but it is not a vacation adress. -

Help
The help I’m looking for is varied. For example, I would love help with making the wooden bunk bed (scaffold wood) in the guest room less squeaky. And could also use a strong hand with hanging up bicycle holder in the storage room. And very welcome if you’re handy with a bike, my bike requires some fixing work. Macramé, like doing that? Great! And you know some beginnings to sewing? Welcome! Oh and do you like being a bit of a personal trainer? Verrrrry welcome!
Other tasks include household chores like dusting, vacuuming, or organizing. -

As an experienced Workawayer myself, I know how special it is when someone settles into a home so naturally in such a short amount of time. Claire moved through the house with ease and respect, and it felt so comfortable having her around from hour one.

Hanneke is our first host and she is so generous. She explained how this platform works in the beginning with patience. During the stay, she cares us so well and even took us to see the beauty of Netherlands like a wonderful beach for lunch, and went to the forest to have a run after work together :) We … read more
