    Description

We are creating a small, nature-based living space deep inside the jungle near Jim Corbett, Uttarakhand,

This project is for people who want to slow down and reconnect with life. Days here begin with birdsong, fresh air, and the quiet rhythm of nature. Water comes naturally from the earth, food is cooked slowly and shared together, and life follows the sun rather than the clock.

Alongside natural building work, we enjoy simple daily living: light farming, collecting firewood, cooking together, evening bonfires, and caring for animals. You’ll share space with friendly dogs, feed chickens, and live closely with the land in a peaceful jungle setting near Jim Corbett, India.

There is no rush and no noise; only time to observe, learn, and enjoy every small moment. This place is for people who value simplicity, presence, and meaningful connection with nature, and who feel comfortable living gently, respectfully, and sustainably in a remote environment.

  • Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

The cultural exchange at our place is centered around shared living, mutual respect, and learning through daily experience. Volunteers are welcomed as part of our small community and take part in everyday life rather than structured tourism or commercial work.

You will experience local Indian rural and jungle living, including traditional cooking, simple food practices, natural water use, and sustainable ways of living close to the land. Evenings are often spent around a bonfire, sharing conversations, stories, music, and perspectives from different cultures.

In return, we value the knowledge, ideas, and life experiences that international volunteers bring with them. This exchange is about connection, understanding, and presence, where learning happens naturally through collaboration, shared meals, and time spent together.

The environment is quiet, remote, and nature-based, offering space for reflection, cultural understanding, and meaningful human connection.

  • Help

    Help

We are looking for experienced, hands-on helpers who enjoy natural living and have skills or interest in natural building and sustainable lifestyles. The main focus is mud and lime construction, so experience with cob, adobe, earthen plasters, or similar techniques is especially welcome. Helpers who can teach, guide, and share knowledge with our local team are ideal.

In addition to building, help with simple daily activities is part of life here; cooking together, light farming or gardening, collecting firewood, caring for dogs, feeding chickens, and maintaining shared spaces. We value people who are self-motivated, calm, respectful, and comfortable living in a remote jungle environment.

This is a long-term knowledge exchange (3–6 months preferred), not a commercial job. We are looking for people who want to slow down, learn, share skills, and live closely with nature.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Volunteers stay in beautiful, comfortable rooms located inside the jungle property. We have two shared rooms, and each room has a capacity for up to four people, making it suitable for small groups or individuals. The rooms are equipped with bunk beds and have attached private washrooms with hot-water geysers.

As part of the exchange, we provide three meals a day in return for up to 25 hours of help per week (with two full days off).
We love sharing meals together as it’s a great way to experience cultural exchange. Most of the time, volunteers will eat home-cooked meals with us, prepared using fresh and local ingredients.
When shared meals are not possible (due to schedules or activities), we will provide either:
Ingredients for you to cook your own meals, or
A small food stipend to cover basic meal expenses.
Our meals are usually simple, healthy, and mostly Indian-style, including vegetarian options. Non-vegetarian food can be arranged occasionally based on mutual preference.
Tea/coffee and basic snacks are available throughout the day.
We encourage volunteers to also share recipes from their own culture — cooking together is part of the experience!

All basic amenities are provided, offering a good balance between comfort and nature-based living. The rooms are clean, well-maintained, and suitable for long-term stays, while still supporting a simple, sustainable lifestyle in a peaceful jungle environment.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

This is a remote jungle location, so volunteers should be comfortable with nature, insects, changing weather, and limited access to shops or towns. A calm mindset, flexibility, and respect for shared living are important. Mobile network may be limited in some areas.

We follow a slow and balanced routine, usually working during cooler hours with time to rest, reflect, or explore nature. Safety, mutual respect, and clear communication are very important to us. Alcohol and loud parties are not encouraged, as this is a peaceful, nature-based space.

This project is best suited for people who enjoy simple living, sustainability, community life, and meaningful long-term exchange, rather than short visits or tourist experiences.

    Can host digital nomads

Our place is located in a remote jungle area, so digital nomads should be aware that internet and mobile connectivity can be limited or unstable. This makes the space more suitable for those who can work offline, have flexible schedules, or do light online work rather than continuous video calls. We encourage a balanced routine, where helping hours are planned during cooler parts of the day, leaving time for personal projects, rest, or reflection. Electricity is available but may be limited at times, so adaptability is important. This environment is ideal for digital nomads looking to slow down, reduce screen time, and reconnect with nature, while still maintaining occasional remote work where possible.

    Space for parking camper vans

We have open natural space within the property suitable for campers or tents, surrounded by forest and quiet jungle atmosphere. Campers are welcome to stay close to nature and be part of the shared community life. Basic facilities such as access to washrooms, water, and common cooking areas can be arranged. Electricity is available for essential needs, though this is not a commercial campsite and facilities are simple and eco-friendly. Motorhomes can access the property up to a certain point; final access may depend on weather and road conditions, so prior discussion is recommended. This space is ideal for travelers who enjoy off-grid living, simplicity, and nature immersion rather than full-service camping.

  • Can possibly accept pets

    Can possibly accept pets

Well-behaved pets are welcome by prior discussion. We already have friendly dogs and chickens on the property, so visiting pets must be comfortable around other animals and respectful of the shared space. Due to the jungle location, pets should be healthy, calm, and used to nature, outdoor environments, and basic living conditions. Owners are responsible for their pet’s care and supervision at all times.
