    Description

Ciao! We are a family: Davide and Laura, and our four children Angela (24), Luigi (22), Luca (20) and Lucia (17). We are a big, lively and welcoming Italian family from the Venetian countryside, near Treviso.

A few minutes outside the village of Casale sul Sile we have our family countryside house, surrounded by a large garden and open fields. It's our place to escape, relax and spend time together, and it's also home to our animals: 4 goats, a donkey and 2 cats! Since we don't live there full time, we need some friendly help to keep the house, the green areas and the animals in good shape.

You will stay in an independent apartment right in the centre of Casale sul Sile, with your own space and freedom, and you'll reach the countryside house in about 10 minutes by bike (we provide the bikes!). We'd love you to feel independent, but also part of our family: we often get together for meals, celebrations and outings, and we'll be happy to include you whenever you like.

With four children between 17 and 24, our family is always busy and full of life, and we'd love to share it with you! You'll be invited to family meals, celebrations and outings, and you'll experience real everyday Italian life, not the tourist version.

We'll introduce you to Venetian food and traditions: radicchio from Treviso, Prosecco from the nearby hills, and tiramisù, which was born right here in Treviso! We're happy to help you practise your Italian, and we're curious to learn about your country, your culture and your recipes in return.

You'll also learn practical skills in caring for goats and a donkey, gardening and land care.

  • Help

    Help

We're looking for help at our family countryside house, just 10 minutes by bike from your apartment. Here's what a typical day might look like:

🐐 Animal care – Our 4 goats, our donkey and 2 cats are the heart of the house! You'll help feed them, refill their water, clean their shelters and spaces, and give them some attention and cuddles. Goats are curious and funny, and our donkey is very gentle, so if you love animals, you'll enjoy this part a lot.

🌿 Garden care – Mowing the lawn, weeding, trimming hedges, raking leaves and generally keeping the garden tidy and beautiful.

🔧 Small DIY – Simple tasks like painting fences, small repairs, and tidying tools and outdoor areas.

No previous experience is needed! At the beginning, one of us will help alongside you to show you how everything works: how to care for the animals, how to use the garden tools safely and what needs to be done each season. Over time you'll become more independent and can organise your tasks as you prefer.

Often we'll help together, especially on bigger jobs or at weekends, and it's a great chance to share skills: we can teach you about animal care, gardening and life in the Italian countryside, and we'd love to learn something from you too, whether it's a recipe, a language or a new way of doing things!

The help is mostly physical and outdoors, so you should be comfortable being outside in all seasons. We ask for about 4–5 hours a day, 5 days a week, usually in the morning, so you'll have your afternoons and 2 full days off to explore Venice, Treviso and the surroundings.

    Spanish: Beginner

This host offers a language exchange
Our family speaks Italian at home, but don't worry about the language barrier! The four of us children all speak good English (Luigi is the most fluent), and some of us also speak a bit of Spanish. Davide and Laura, mainly speak Italian with a little English and Spanish, but they're always happy to communicate in any way possible, with words, gestures and lots of smiles! We'd love to help you learn or practise Italian during your stay. Through everyday conversations, shared meals and working together, you'll naturally pick up new words and expressions, and we're happy to teach you some typical Venetian phrases and dialect too. In return, we'd love to practise our English and Spanish, and we're always curious to learn a few words in your language! Since we children are young adults, it's also a great chance to chat with people your own age and learn the Italian that's really spoken today.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

You'll stay in an independent apartment with three bedrooms, (2 shared bathroom) right in the centre of Casale sul Sile, with a fully equipped kitchen. It will be clean and ready for your arrival, with bed linen and towels provided.

It's your own space, so you can live at your own pace, cook your own meals and enjoy your privacy. Wi-Fi is available on request.

The centre of Casale sul Sile has shops, supermarket, cafés and good bus connections. We provide bikes, so you can easily reach our countryside house (about 10 minutes away) and explore the beautiful paths along the Sile river.

    Food

We provide groceries for the apartment, so you can cook what you like. Just let us know your preferences! We also have a vegetable garden at home, so there's always plenty of fresh seasonal vegetables to enjoy.

You're always welcome to join our family meals too, and we'll often invite you to share lunch or dinner with us, especially at weekends and on special occasions. It's the best way to taste real Venetian home cooking!

If you have any dietary needs (vegetarian, vegan, allergies…), just tell us in advance and we'll be happy to accommodate them.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Sea, mountains and hills, all in one place!
One of the best things about living here is that the Veneto region has it all, within easy reach:

🏛️ Art cities – Venice is just 20 minutes away and Treviso 15. Padua, Verona and Vicenza are perfect day trips by train.
🍇 Hills – The Prosecco hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene (a UNESCO World Heritage site) are great for cycling, hiking and tasting local wine.
🏖️ Sea – The beaches of the Adriatic coast, like Jesolo and Caorle, are less than an hour away.
🏔️ Mountains – The Dolomites are about two hours away: hiking in summer, skiing in winter.
🚲 Nature at your doorstep – The Sile river park starts right from the village, with beautiful cycling and walking paths.

    Come with us!
We're a family that loves to travel and we move around a lot, especially at weekends. We have a house by the sea and one in the mountains, and whether it's with our parents or with some of us children, we'll be happy to take you along when there's a chance. It's a great way to see places that tourists usually miss!

    Good to know

You'll live independently in your apartment, but you're always welcome to join our family life
    Smokers are welcome
    Couples are welcome
We live a relaxed, friendly lifestyle and we appreciate people who are respectful, reliable and easy-going
Countryside help means insects in summer and some mud in winter, so bring clothes you don't mind getting dirty!

We can't wait to welcome you into our big family! 🌿
