Description
We are a family of 3, living on five peaceful acres surrounded by forest, birdsong, and fresh air. The river is a short walk from our home, and trails weave through the trees right from the gate. Life here moves with the seasons. We garden, grow food and herbs, cook organic meals, and spend a lot of time outdoors.
Our family is Megan, Eli, and Ezra (ten year old twins). The boys attend Waldorf school, and we carry those same values at home: creativity, nature connection, rhythm, and care for the land are at the heart of how we live. I am a medical herbalist, energy healer and educator, and run a mystery school, organic herbal farm and apothecary.
We are tending this beautiful home and land as guardians and stewards. Alongside our home and gardens, we are creating a small healing sanctuary and herbal farm where we teach and host small gatherings.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We love sharing the beauty of this land and way of life. Helpers are invited into daily homestead rhythms, gardening and food growing, learning herbal medicine and foraging, cooking from scratch, tending the greenhouse, and understanding how a small family sanctuary and herbal farm runs. We often explore local trails, rivers, lakes, beaches, and mountains, visit farmers markets, and share skills like plant identification, wild harvesting, herbal preparations, and simple self sufficiency. It is a cultural exchange rooted in nature, family life, and learning by doing.

Help
We are looking for a friendly, independent, hardworking person, or couple, who has their own camper, trailer, or van and would enjoy becoming part of the rhythm of life on our healing sanctuary and herbal farm.
We have a beautiful private place for you to park and create a home, surrounded by forest, gardens, and herbs. You will have access to a bathroom, shower, washer and dryer, and are warmly welcome to share three organic meals a day with us.
Support is needed with:
• gardening, weeding, and caring for the land
• landscaping and outdoor projects
• tending the greenhouse and herbal gardens
• harvesting, drying, and processing herbs
• helping with herbal medicine making and apothecary projects
• seasonal farm tasks and general support around the sanctuary
We are hoping to welcome someone who is responsible, self-directed, hardworking, and motivated. Someone who enjoys co-creating, collaborating, and taking initiative without needing close supervision. This is an especially good fit for someone who loves plants, herbal medicine, nature, and living close to the land.
In return, you will have a beautiful place to stay, nourishing meals, time outdoors, and the experience of being part of a small herbal farm and healing sanctuary project on Vancouver Island. Our land includes forest, gardens, trails, and a river nearby. We value warmth, respect, easy communication, and people who enjoy meaningful work, shared meals, laughter, and simple life close to the earth.
**Do drugs or alcohol use on our sanctuary land please :)

Accommodation
You will have your own space in your camper, trailer, or van, parked in a beautiful private area on our land surrounded by forest and gardens. There is plenty of room to settle in and create a cozy home base for yourself. Tenting is also welcome :)
You will have access to a shared bathroom, shower, washer and dryer, kitchen, and outdoor spaces at our home. Our home is relaxed, clean, and welcoming.
There is also a medicine yurt on the land overlooking the pond. You are welcome to use it for quiet mornings, meditation, yoga, journaling, reading, or personal time. Many people love beginning the day there with tea and the sounds of the birds and trees.
We provide three organic shared meals each day, and there is no fee or payment required from you.
You will have at least two full days off each week, often more, giving you plenty of time to explore Vancouver Island, rest, enjoy nature, or simply have time to yourself.
