  • Description

Graham, Ruth and our 3 children live at our Farm, a 40 acre smallholding on the tiny Island of Bryher, one of the Isles of Scilly. On the farm we grow 5 acres of fruit and vegetables, rear North Devon cattle for beef, Saddleback pigs for pork, 200 hens for eggs and keep bees. We also have 2 ponies and some pet ducks and 2 holiday cottages. Bryher is the smallest inhabited island in Scilly with about 90 residents. It has a thriving tourist trade many of them coming to enjoy the farms produce. Bryher is an escape from mainland life, with little trafic, no crime and a great community feel. in your spare time you can enjoy plenty of watersports, walking, peace and tranquility, lovely places to eat and boat trips to neighboring islands.

Living on Bryher, even for a short time, is special. Allowing you to be part of a stunningly beautiful place, unique to the UK, with a slower pace of life that few places have these days. A strong sense of community. We can help you to learn about how we farm and grow our produce and we welcome learning from others knowledge.

  • Help

Help on the farm includes strenuous manual work so applicants need to be physically fit and willing to do hard manual work. Weeding, planting and picking the fruit and vegetables in the summer months, whilst in the winter its decorating the holiday lets and general maintenance on the farm buildings so knowledge of DIY carpentry would be an advantage. Strimming, hedge cutting and clearing ground around the farm. You will not be asked to feed or look after the animals unless you are happy and confident to do so and we will support you with that.
