    Description

Hi, we are a family of 5. My wife Charlene is a registered nurse, we have 3 kids: Avery 16, Eldon 14 and Harris 9. In the summer I work as a carpenter and in the wintertime we train and race our dogs. Our acreage is a little oasis, with beautiful views nestled in Northeast Saskatchewan, just 20mins outside of Melfort. Together we care for our 48 sleddogs, 2 Golden Retrievers and our house dog Sadie.
We are a competitive racing sled dog kennel, mostly competing in the races on the Ma-Mow-We-Tak Circuit. Our Alaskan Huskies are all very affectionate, friendly and easy to work with.
In the Off-Season, from April until October, we are looking for somebody to help us with the basic daily chores of feeding, watering and cleaning the kennel. We are expecting multiple litters of puppies in 2025, so in addition to the basic chores, we would like you to help socialize and exercise the puppies as well as the adult dogs on our private trails. If you are handy with tools and small kennel maintenance projects, we would also like some help with that.
During the winter months, we spend a lot of time training the dogs for the upcoming race season, so we are looking for someone to help with that as well as the daily chores. This time of year, we also start this years puppies in harness. There will be lots of opportunities for you to learn how to ride the sled with your own dog team. When we are gone for racing, we would need you to look after the dogs left at the kennel and continue their training.
Our kennel also provides tours, so you would also be helping with those by giving rides. We pay the required minimum wage per hour.
