    Description

Hi, We're Diana & Keith. We live beside the sea in a small village in the Catlins, New Zealand. I'm a writer, Keith is an artist. We're both now semi-retired. We grow 70% of our own food, and all of our firewood.

Our home is surrounded by beaches, rainforest, walking trails, waterfalls, native birds, marine wildlife, and a wonderful, friendly community.

Keith enjoys playing the guitar, especially with other musicians. Diana loves flower gardening and growing vegetables. We both enjoy running. We have books to read, an amazing gallery just 5 minutes away, and a cute cafe run from a caravan. We've travelled to many parts of the world and love to pick up tips, and share our own, with travellers.

In October 2025, a huge windstorm blew down some of our firewood trees. The trees have all been sawn into rings of wood, and we're now looking for 2-3 people to help us stack this wood ready for splitting. This job would suit fit, active people who are happy to work alongside us, and enjoy the meals we prepare for you.

We have a cute cabin which sleeps two people. And we have a room for a third person if it's required.

    What else ...

We live in a rainforest. Although we don't get a huge amount of rain, we do get quite a few rain days (which doesn't mean it rains all day - often it can just be a shower). But we do work in damp conditions when we have to. And we do have to schedule our work around the weather - which can mean a prompt 9am start to the day.
