The Lodge is a holistic nature reserve in the Serra da Estrela natural park. We have 22 hectares of land...including blueberry farm, dam and outdoor plunge pool.
We have a herd of 12 goats that need milking and walking, we make our own cheese and yoghurt. We have chickens & ducks producing organic eggs and an organic garden for fruit, vegetables and herbs. There's also a family of 6 friendly dogs and 3 cats that keep us entertained, so a must for animal lovers!
We have two yurts, a tipi and a guest room for guest accommodation for people who want to experience living closer to nature. We offer fresh, organic food produce for guests and volunteers staying at the lodge all harvested from the land.
Andrea who runs the lodge has a background in holistic therapies including astrology. During August and September we're running healing retreats, There's lots to do before this time to look after the guests and offer vegetarian meals.
The space we have here is very serene and peaceful, you're completely at one with nature and the outdoor work is great for the soul. There's a lovely community feel in the area and you'll have the opportunity to interact with guests as well as other workers at the lodge should you wish to.
There are many places to explore here and the area is ideal for people who enjoy walking, cycling, parascending or even kayacking as we are close to the River Mondego. There's many lovely spots for reading, meditation, yoga and watching the incredible sunsets.
