Hello my name is Richard and I am from The Galapagos Islands, Ecuador. I live in Santa Cruz, one of the famous Galapagos Islands, and my project is building a sustainable, environmentally conscious tourism business. I am looking for a computer-savvy volunteer to assist in website promotion, tourism marketing, and social media networking. You must be fluent in English and have a good command of English language skills, as well as computer skills and website experience. Since the Galapagos Islands are predominantly a Spanish-speaking population, you will have an excellent opportunity to practice Spanish, or to learn basic Spanish if you no habla Espaniol right now. The people of The Galapagos Islands are warm and friendly, and eager to meet and make new friends from throughout the world.
Santa Cruz is the economic capital of the Galapagos Islands and is the location of the Charles Darwin Research Center; it is here that The Origin of The Species evolved from its origin during the early 1800s when the Beagle landed in San Cristobel. Galapagos is a protected environment, a World Heritage Site that is recognized around the world for being the home of many species of animals, marine life, and flora and fauna that can only be found here. Most people have heard of the giant tortoises that have been here for hundreds of years, or may have seen photos of the blue-footed boobies, but truly, the wonders of Galapagos can only be experienced by visiting the Islands. If you’re interested in viewing dormant volcanos, lava tunnels, or seeing marine iguanas, pelicans or other species endemic to Galapagos, please contact me to arrange your opportunity to fully experience one of the most special places on the planet.

Galapagos is comprised of many different cultures from within Ecuador, including Cholos, Indians, blacks, and mulattos, as well as many descendants of German and Norwegian ancestry. We are truly a cultural mélange and the inhabitants of Galapagos are as unique and colorful as the natural environment that we represent.

The help I need is to promote travel and tours within the Galapagos islands, while being mindful of the unique characteristics of this environment, and our goal to remain ecologically sustainable. You will be working directly with me, and there is a great opportunity for insightful thinking, creative approaches to new challenges, and direct responses to new situations. I am looking for a responsible volunteer who is flexible and eager to assist in this new venture

Transportation in Galapagos consists of bicycles and taxis; the taxis are only one dollar per ride!
