    Description

    English:

Welcome to my home in Larzac.

My name is Johanne, I'm Franco-Belgo-Canadian and, after a life spent dancing and teaching yoga, I retired to the plateau 6 years ago.

For me, retirement here means one thing: a new beginning!! From my autonomous permaculture vegetable garden to the eco-constructions that dot the grounds (a terrace, dry toilets, a wood shed, and more), there's always something to work on (and something to eat): preparing the seedlings, understanding and working the soil, planting, harvesting and transforming the food for conservation.

This big, little vegetable garden feeds us, which means we, in return, cherish it and take care of it. Having spent the past 5 years reading, learning, researching and experimenting, I've learned a lot about working the earth and growing food naturally. And I'd love to pass my knowledge on!

Besides my work on the garden and grounds, I'm also active in two local non-profit associations that strive for climate justice and food sovereignty.

A tiny house which I've installed on the grounds provides semi-autonomous lodging (outside the house), which means you'll enjoy complete intimacy during your stay!

    See you soon (I hope)

    Johanne

    Johanne

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Discover the local culture of the Causses. Millau and its surroundings are very dynamic and rich in cultural offerings. In addition, the breathtaking rocky landscapes typical of the region allow for a multitude of outdoor activities (hiking, climbing, paragliding, caving, canyoning). The hiking trails are accessible from the house. I am a dancer myself and my husband is a film editor, so we spend a lot of time discussing alternative culture, always accompanied by a good meal made with produce from the garden, or from local and seasonal farmers. We are bilingual.
