After a Covid pauze, we are back at work, and open to visitors :-) Travel to Saint Martin/Sint Maarten is currently possible trough Prinses Juliana airport, or Colebay seaport of entry. Pre-arrival PRC test
and online entry application is needed, but for now, no quarentine.
Sorry for the applicants who got no reply over the last months
We are rebuilding several hurricane damaged sailboats on the Caribbean island Saint Martin. Recycling damaged boats and parts is main focus. We also run a nature project on a small Lagoon island. Cleaning up plastic and re-planting of several species of endemic fruittree's
Life and work is based on board, at anchor in Saint Martins Lagoon. Its not always easy. There are no facilitys of any kind. We are off grid. The projects are just getting started, that means we have to improvise a lot. There is a sense of community with about 10 liveaboard as Neighbours, including two families.
You will live on a damaged 50ft beneteau sailingyacht. there is no running water, no toilet but the sea, no cooking facility except the BBQ on the nearby beach. You will be asked to help independed most of the time, with limited resources. You will have to be a responsible and considerate adult.
Around 2 hours of help is asked from you daily. No meals are provided. Expect to have some living expenses for food, fuel and water, around 5-10usd per day, depending on your style. The tasks will depend on your skills. Either gardening/island cleaning, or help on one of the boats.
In return, you can explore and experience the island. This is an Ideal spot for sailboat hitchhikers or yachtcrew. Great base for (free)diving and snorkeling
There are some surfspots and hikes on the island, but that's not our strongest point. Visiting the neighbouring islands of Saba, St , st Barth and Anguilla is possible by ferry.
It will be less easy when boatlife is new for you, but you are welcome to come and try this lifestyle if you feel like a change and a challange. Must be fit and a bit flexible.
No social media influencers, no drama, no conspiracy bufffs, no addicts, racists or idiots please.
Saint Martin is also a place where travelers can get lost in a bad way. If you are susceptible to alcohol, drugabuse or too much party, this is not the right island for you
Positive vibes, couples, explorers, MacGyvers, pets, musicians, artists, craftsman, aliens and everyone else who can contribute to a better world is very welcome

Culturally not too interesting really, its more about a certain lifestyle. Sailors from all over the planet pass trough the island. The French, Caribbean and American culture are mixed on the island.
Gardening and cleaning on a uninhabited island, or restore and recycle damaged sailingyachts. Very diverse depending on your skillset

Primitieve. On board a damaged but liveable boat at anchor. No many facilities yet, but we are constantly improving. Off grid, 12 volt plugs only, no wifi, no toilet or running water, but it has stunning sunset and refeshing morning swims etc. Kajaks, fishinggear, dinghy available.
Also Interesting as a first base, if you plan to move to the Caribbean long term. Its also a great place to start if you are looking for your own boat to buy. Wether your looking for a gypsy flaoting project, or a ready to go sailing yacht, chances are you can find it here on Saint Martin
Limited internet access
We have pets
We are smokers
Can host families
We did have two digital nomads in the past. And you are free try. But on a lot of days, Internet coverage is simply to weak to upload larger amounths of content. There is no Wifi, and data plans here are expensive and weak. Your best bet is to take a dinghy to the nearest bar or restaurant. Alsof, the salty wet and sandy enviroment are not great on your equipement
Not unless it floats!
All pets except dogs bigger than cats, due to kids we have running around
Maximum 2 hours a day, 7 days a week, flexible scedule
