    Description

Together with our two children we live in the quaint village of Waake close to Göttingen were we recently took over an organic farm with livestock and a small bakery.
For four days of the week we wake up to the smell of fresh crispy bread and during the summer we can enrich our breakfast with tomatoes directly out of our greenhouses.
The countryside surrounding Waake is great for hiking and bike trips. The Harz mountain range is not too far away for those needing a bit more, while Göttingen with its historic city center and university on the other hand is only 20 minutes by bus.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Living on a diverse farm gives the great opportunity to get into touch with a lot of people - young and old alike. Not only while doing tasks together but also during our shared lunch.

Although you will be helping us as a family, if interested we can also provide insights into organic agriculture and our small bakery.

Located also in the village of Waake there is a small museum, where exhibits from around the area give an insight into historic crafts and agriculture. Open on Sundays throughout the summer it also features a café and its impressive building is the location for a variety of other events.

By participating in workaway we hope to broaden our minds with you bringing with you parts of your culture, another point of view on whatever topic and also your language background.

    Accommodation

We provide a small room in our old farm house with a view on the yard. You will share the bathroom with us. We have warm lunch together with the farm team. Whether we are able to have the other meals together depends on our shedule, but there's always plenty of fresh farm produce, our own bread and a lot of other organic food as well as big kitchen.
