We are a couple in our sixty's, with no children left at home. Our 6 adult children and 6 grandchildren who live nearby and one in the country. We have chosen to live an hour from the city so we can still enjoy the benefits if city living with space and the peaceful tranquility of having an amazing views and 10 acres. It means we can grow some of our own food and have a space to create glass art. There maybe times we can require some house sitting with 2 dogs and 3 chickens.
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
We live in a semi rural community which is small and friendly. Many people in "The Hills" are very mindful about their health so we have great access to Organic, Bio Dynamic food stores, bakery and farmers markets. We try to eat home grown produce and organic food.
Occasionally we may have outings to our grandchildren's school events or family functions that Travellers are welcome to share if they like.
We are a Hobby farm with chickens, growing vegetables and 2 dogs. I am a glass artist.
We are establishing garden beds using weedmat and mulch as well as maintaining my Vegetable patch. We are also setting up my glass studio and may need help with this set up or with kiln fired glass projects I am working on.
Accommodation is in our home where travellers will have their own bedroom and bathroom. All linen and towels will be supplied. We are happy to share meal times with our main meal being in the evening.
we have a home theatre that guests are welcome to share as well as two other living zones to watch television in.
Being in the Yarra Valley gives opportunities to visit wineries, Breweries, restaurants, beautiful gardens in The Dandenong Ranges and Yarra Glen, Chocolate Factory Yarra Glen and Healesville Sanctuary (Australian Animal Zoo).

Only minutes away are some beautiful walks in the Dandenong Ranges National Parks where sometimes Lyrebirds can be spotted.
