    Description

Hello! We are Carla (1993) and Ferran (1995), and we live in a house in Guardiola de Berguedà. It's just there where we have started to develope our own project, based on a productive organic garden. We are convinced that the current economic model is not sustainable and that's why we have decided to live in a rural area in order to grow our own food and share them to the local community. Family provides much of the capital and labour for the farm and where the production of agricultural products is to provide for the basic needs of the family, with little extra to sell to meet the needs of the family.

We are actually living two families in the house: us and Judit and Moi, who are taking care about the sheeps and goats heard. So the global project involve the two parts: growing a vegetable garden and taking care about the hens, sheeps and goats. Two complementary activities (agriculture and livestock) that we believe bring us diversity and resilience in this uncertain future.

We are situated in Cadí Moixeró Natural Parc, where is totally surrounded by mountains, including Perdraforca, one of the best known in Catalonia. The landscape it's definitely impressing and inspiring. You have to see it!

  • Help

    Help

We would like to host people that are interested in organic farming and are handy and creative. We always have things to do around the farm, but a minimum physical condition is essential because are quite physical jobs.

We need help in the organic garden: planting, planting seeds, fixing fences, cutting firewood, feeding animals. We try to make the work different and non-routine every day, although we adapt to the profile of each one and their skills. Some days, will be also necessary to help with the sheep herd or maintenance of the houses.

We also expect from volunteers to help in the usual domestic tasks (sharing the cooking, washing dishes or some other usual tasks).

We consider that it's important to reforce the idea that this is not a hotel, and these days won't be just holidays. Even so, the afternoons are free for you, and here there are millions of things to do! We are convinced you will enjoy for sure!

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

There is a part of the house reserved for guests, which is independent of the rest of the houses. It could be that you had to share it with other guests, but it is usually free. It's a large room with sofa, mattress, a space for cooking and a wood stove for the winter. It's a rural farm, not a hotel, so there won't be luxuries, but you will have the basic things to stay comfortable.

    What else ...

There is no public transport available, so it's recommended to arribe by car. If you come with your own car, you will have plenty of freedom to move around Cadí Moixeró Natural Park. Here you can do a lot of mountain sports in summer as trekking, hiking, climbing, mountain bike, and sport activities in winter as skiing and snowboarding. We like helpers when they are active and enjoy the outdoor activities in the free time.

We are surrounded by mountains up to 2600 meters high, and our farm is in 900 meters hight. We are situated 20 min far from Berga and 1 hour from Barcelona.
