    Description

I am a bush woman, forest dweller. I am rebuilding everything after the fires, with the intention to create something that will be supportive in this ever-changing climate a place of healing and re-connecting for people. The land I care for is something special, something that most people never experience. it is rugged, and beautiful. I am rebuilding as i listen to the land and her needs.

Travelers would learn the skills necessary to live in the Australian bush, closely connected to nature in all her glory, beauty and power. I have been gifted with learning and experiencing some of the indigenous stories of the land and mountains that surrounds us and can share some of my knowledge with you. I practice yoga and meditations every day and if you wish to join me as the sun rises over the mountains, you would be welcome to experience the powerful beauty of this also. You will learn about self-sufficiency and simple, connected and kind living - living with the surroundings rather than against it. All animals are loved and respected on this land, and you will get a taste of what that looks like as you all get used to each other. You will also learn through the work, how to build a permaculture garden and keeping water in the land, creative ferro cementing rails and garden walls, rock work and paving as well as maintaining the land in a conscious way. We are all students and teachers, and knowledge and wisdom unfold naturally as we sink in and be open and share experiences. Living amongst forested mountains and birdsong filled mornings is very healing and nurturing (for some) as well as wild and resilience building.

    Help

I am living on the edge of a big forested national park, re-building after losing everything including house and permaculture garden in the fires of NYE 2020. I will be needing help with projects such as creating permaculture inspired gardens and helping with maintenance of already planted gardens and food forests. some heavier jobs for those that are keen are creating rock walls for gardens and ferro cementing, creating a grey water/ worm farm system that feeds an orchard, creating compost stations, fencing, building, general maintenance, artistic paving and also sewing curtains and drapes and cleaning and creating. I am looking for positive self-motivated people who are comfortable being here by themselves sometimes when I go to work, the day is yours to work at your own pace or chill and listen to the magnificent forest sounds that surround. If you have skills, I am excited for you to share them to be a part of this beautiful creation. At the moment I am only comfortable accommodating travelers for two weeks at a time. If you want to stay longer in the area, I can link you up with local workaway hosts also.

    Accommodation

Accommodation is simple but comfortable, either a cozy little caravan or in a carpeted bell tent. Travelers will be welcome to chill out in the house and eat delicious (mostly) vegetarian meals with me in the mud brick house I am creating also. If you are comfortable held in the arms of nature, or if you want to escape the human world for a while and tune in to the songs of the mountains this is your place to visit!

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Time off could be swimming in my dam, or at the ocean which is 40 minutes away there are pristine, secluded beaches along the coastline and a town called Bermagui with restaurants and cafes nearby (40mins drive), there is a magnificent lake down the road and a Kayak available to use also. The surrounding forest is a playground to explore, and the small country town nearby has freestyle dances every second Friday where you will meet an array of interesting people on the dance floor, or the local pub for a more earthy yarn over a beer and some pub food. I am a relatively quiet person, deeply spiritual with a solid yoga practice, but I do like to have fun. I invite people that respect and love nature, who are not afraid of the animals you will be surrounded by here and who like to hook in and learn and finish a project that you can be proud of. My house is a safe haven from the world, and I am passionate about creating the right peaceful energy for the house and land.
I have much wildlife around me including snakes of which I live peacefully with. I hope to find positive, kind, fun, people that are ok with this.
