This place is a humble but pleasantly situated dwelling, with basic amenities in the process of steady improvement. There is a productive vegetable garden and other areas with much potential for development. My aim is to create a relaxing and characterful environment with the eventual purpose of earning rental income. I want to be able to offer guests candle-making and other art and craft courses.
Travelers will learn how agriculture was carried out a generation ago as this part of Portugal is both very rural and relatively poor, so that things have not been modernised as in other places. The local Portuguese and indeed the expat community are friendly and welcoming so an insight into Portuguese culture can be gained. There are many local public festivals and celebrations that can be visited.
Volunteers with artistic flair could be a great help with decorating ideas for the house. Another possible project could be maintaining the vegetable plot or landscaping other outside areas.
