Description
It is time for asking for help and sharing again.
We are on a small farm working on self sustainability.
We have 12 alpacas, and 2 cats.
We are just over an hour from Melbourne.
We are looking for someone with some handyman skills to help with some minor maintenance at our place, painting, wood cutting, planting, weeding in exchange for a local stay experience, food and accommodation.
The standard of 4 hours a day applies but flexible with days and chance to get paid, especially if you have carpentry skills.
This is our 14th year hosting and some wonderful friendships have been made and we now have "extended family" overseas that we visit.
I am also heavily involved with non profit work within the community and so lots of local community interactions.
You can contact for further info and discuss it further. Anybody with trade skills like carpentry, plumbing would be awesome!
It can also be where you need a weekend escape into the country as well.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We will also make sure that our visitors have a very local experience and immerse them into our day to day lives. We are very patient with people that have difficulties with English, it does not bother us as we believe communication is more than the spoken language. I love sharing my knowledge of permaculture.

We have been staying with the family for two weeks and really enjoyed being a part of it. We had nice conversations with everyone of them, especially John is an expert for australian history. It was so interesting just listening to his stories! Ginny showed us the surrounding area, drove us to the city… read more
