Description
Hi, I’m Mary , I’m 40, Canadian, and the steward of Casa here in La Paz. Casa is both my home and a small vacation rental property, shaped around creativity, care for space, and collaborative work. I value clear communication, mutual respect, and a calm, grounded rhythm of living.
Living on site with me is Lucho, my sweet and friendly dog, who is very much part of daily life here. We also share the space with Aldo (36), a resident artist and musician whose presence adds a creative and easygoing energy to the home.
Casa attracts people who enjoy contributing to a beautiful environment, working independently while being part of a shared rhythm, and bringing creativity into everyday life. It’s a peaceful, alcohol-free home (on occasion with a good bbq, Aldo will have a beer or two) where everyone is encouraged to maintain their own autonomy while collaborating respectfully.
If you’re someone who enjoys caring for spaces, appreciates structure with flexibility, and feels inspired by creative environments, you’ll likely feel comfortable here.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
I am quite new to the city but have a great network of friends who are involved in the arts and culture in the area. I speak fluent English and Spanish and love to cook. We are aiming to create a coliving space for creative people where they can feel inspired to create!

Help
It needs a LOT of love as it is a 50 year old home, but with the right intention and loving hands, we know we can get it there. There is a long list of to do's but we are currently looking for people who can help with prepping, painting, plant care, cleaning.

I speak fluent English and Spanish and happy to exchange.
Accommodation
Bedroom inside the main house with en suite bathroom, AC and queen size bed.
Workawayers will either get their own food (We provide condiments) or contribute portion to groceries. Sometimes we like to cook together and sometimes we eat separately, we go with the flow and keep things easy. We can go to the grocery store together weekly.
What else ...
I ask for 4 hours a day, Monday - Thursday and food will be your own expense or you can pitch towards the shop (we can negotiate what works best). I can happily take you to the grocery store and markets, I go once a week and anytime I go out I can drop you on the way.
There are many shops nearby and the bike path access is very close, I have a bike you can borrow and the bike path to the malecon is very close.

A day or so after I arrived I got sick, and she took care of me as only a nurturing feminine presence can. We enjoyed deep conversations over coffee, walks with Lucho on the beach and built a kinship that can only be described as sisterhood.
