We welcome all volunteers to our team and will teach them about life in rural Uganda explaining our traditions, beliefs and customs. We cook out doors using wood and charcoal stoves and we will gladly teach volunteers to cook the Ugandan specialties of rice, beans, yams, cassava, posho and chapatis and invite you to cook one of your National dishes for the children. We are attend church on a Sunday when there are sufficient funds for transport and any one who wants to join us is welcome to come along and experience an all dancing,all-singing African service. We can also offer volunteers a chance for lango exchange and can teach luganda or lusoga. Please join us.
There is lots of volunteers to do and we welcome any one with a desire to get involved regardless of experience or expertise. Below we have out lined some of the main activities but we are also happy for volunteers to come with ideas for things that will help our project grow and develop. 1.Teaching the children at the Healing house depending on if school is in. They love to learn especially through songs and games. 2.General help preparing food, washing clothes, cleaning and collecting water. Look after 50 Children is a lot of work and any help with daily chores is massively appreciated. 3.Community activities:We would love to run more community activities such as Language practice,Health Education and would love if any volunteers could help us get these sessions running. 4.Maintenance----Their is always some thing to fix or improve. (5). Fundraising help. As with most charities it is a constant battle to raise enough funds to support our project with 50 kids to feed, school fees and scholastic materials to pay for we are constantly looking for new ways to expand and diversify our income streams . Any help with on line, local or grant fundraising would be humbled appreciated. We do ask though that all volunteers put our children FRIST,the community at large second and themselves THIRD.
