Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We already had 2 au pairs and they have been a "big sister/brother", exspecially for Riccardo. You will spend most of the time with him, and as his English is improving, he isn't shy to speak and make a lot of questions about life in other countrys.
During the week we all are quite busy, but we have dinner all together and au pairs enjoyed spend that time of the day with us
As I am a divorced mum, every other weekend kids stay with the father so it's the perfect time to explore Italy and I strongly suggest it. As I like to travel, don't esitate to ask me for informations and ideas.
In L'Aquila there is an Italian school for foreigners and both our au pairs attended it
With many university courses, you can find Erasmus students and Friday night is the day to make new friends -

Help
I mainly need help with my elder son: I need someone that can pick him up from school, bring him home, make lunch and bring him to his activities. Helps needed from Monday to Friday, always from 1 pm, so mornings and all weekends are free.
I provide a manual car and refuel, but you can use the car even to go around in your free time -

Accommodation
You'll have a private room and a bathroom to share just in case with occasionale guests
I'm quite good at cooking, so you won't starve!!!
I leave something ready for lunch for the au pair and Riccardo while I cook the dinner.
When kids stay with the father ... they are my day off ... so fridge is full, feel free to eat whatever you want at the time you like
Our first au pair was vegetarian and we had no problem. Also vegan won't be a problem. Riccardo is lactose intollerant. Sorry, but we can't accomodate a celiac -
What else ...
We live 1h and half far from Rome and there are many buses all day long. From Rome you can take a high speed train and be in Florence in just 90min or in Milan in less than 4 hours
As I said, L'Aquila is a universitarian city, so you can find a lot of students from different part of Italy, and even Erasmus students. -
