I can’t ask for a better first workaway experience. Lilli was from the start really easy to be with. She stayed with us one month. Lilli was outstanding guests - the best ever!!!!! She went above and beyond. Lilli was fabulous to communicate with - she is prompt, considerate, kind, genuine, honest and detailed-oriented. We would host her again in

What an incredible time in Albiol! I spent one month in this lovely little village (even though I initially planned to stay for no more than two weeks), and I will never forget this time! We are still in contact, so this description is for other workawayers who are considering staying with Ona and David. If you have the chance, go for it!
First
… read more and foremost, this family is simply adorable. All of them do their best to make your experience as unique as possible. They showed me the area, took me on hikes (or explained some to me), let me join family parties, weekend trips, and gaming nights, cooked for me every day (their first time cooking for a vegetarian, and they did great), helped whenever I needed it, and just made me feel like part of the family.
But also, the work is easygoing and doesn't feel like work at all (as long as you feel comfortable with driving a lot) because the two girls are simply cute and open-minded. In the end, I had a really good connection with them, and it was quite hard to leave. The whole village community was amazingly open-minded, welcoming, and inclusive. They took me climbing, invited me to their weekly gatherings, and we went together to a very special festival in Reus. All of them were truly interested in me, and I had so many enriching conversations about everything from our childhood to politics, education, how it is to live in the middle of nowhere, and so much more.
To come back to life in the middle of nowhere: The house, the whole property, and the landscape are just beautiful, located in the mountains near Tarragona! Hidden hikes, lakes, and waterfalls in the middle of the forest without any tourists. I am already missing the view from my wonderful room, the sunrises at the castle, and the cozy, foggy evenings. (And of course lots more things!) I will definitely come back as soon as possible!
So if you enjoy being in nature, meeting warm-hearted, open-minded people, and want to learn something about another way of life, give it a try!You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.
