Description
I live in a small house in Carlisle, fairly central within Perth. It is a peaceful household with two cats and a little garden.
I am close to a train station, and the trains are free on Sundays.
There are a few shops within walking distance and Perth's CBD, the Swan River, and dozens of restaurants in Vic Park are all not far away. My favourite places to eat locally are Woodpeckers Pizza in Lathlain, and the Pietro Gelateria in East Vic Park.
Some of my favourite things to do in Perth include the Rooftop Cinema in Northbridge (during the summer months), the view over the Swan River from Kings Park, dining out on the Leederville strip, and the circular walk across the two new footbridges over the Swan River, the Matagarup Bridge and the Boorloo Bridge.
* I prefer Workawayers who already have reviews, and either women or couples *

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
I'm from the UK, widely travelled, and love to meet new people. I have previous experience of teaching English as a foreign language, and very happy to help you practice and improve your English if it is not your first language. Also you probably already know that staying in a home brings you much closer to the spirit of a town than passing through as a tourist!

Help
I will be happy to have help with cleaning including cleaning the outsides of the windows, gardening jobs like weeding, sweeping and pruning, and also DIY tasks, depending what suits you.
I am doing lots of DIY tasks like painting that you can help me with, working alongside each other and sharing my skills with you. These are DIY tasks that I am doing myself, they are not tasks that need professional tradespeople. Things like helping me renovate my kitchen cabinets and put up some tiles in my laundry.

Accommodation
A compact and cosy room, and use of the rest of the house.

What else ...
There's a train station very close, and unrestricted street parking. The trains are free on Sundays.
There are two cats in the family, one of them is shy and can be aggressive. It's important to keep the right doors closed so that neither of them escape!
Non-smoking household.
I eat an unconventional diet at non-standard times, so I won't provide food, but you'll be very welcome to use the kitchen, and I can take you to the supermarket.
I usually plan only about six weeks in advance, if your visit to Perth is a few months away I do not organise my diary that far ahead 😊

Her house and the room are really pretty and cosy and it has been a pleasure helping with her renovation. The work was absolutely reasonable and Jessica communicated the tasks very well.
We had some great chats, watched some shows together and she invited me to go on (my first Aussie) camping… read more
