Description
(Francophone? Super! Voir ci-dessous...)
We are Jonathan and Linda, a happy, easy-going couple. We live in a breathtakingly beautiful, peaceful, sunny part of the Dordogne with dogs and cats, chickens, small pigs, sheep and goats. We're surrounded by birdsong, sunsets, fields of sunflowers, grapevines, woods and wildlife. The medieval village of Issigeac is a bike ride away...
We are slowly renovating the house, barns and pigioniére and garden. Right now we are working on an oak-framed terrace. By the time you read this, we may have started building the straw bale house, the treehouses or even a spring-fed swimming pool - but all in good time!
The chickens wander around all day making eggs that taste great. The dogs, Bryn, Maerdy, Donkey and Nero will entertain you if only you'll throw their ball. The cats love a fuss. The pigs crave a cherry tomato and will roll over for a belly rub. Goaty McGoatface and his ladies and kids wander the field. We're working on a fence for them so they can eat grass all day. We're on limestone, so the current plan is a digger and pecker...
You would need to be a positive person who loves animals and getting stuck in. We work Monday to Friday from 9.30am. We try to match tasks with your skills and what you enjoy. This is Jonathan's 4th renovation and he is happy to share skills. We finished the first gite (holiday home) in 2019. When we don't have guests, this is yours.
We find projects are more fun working together. We work hard and then relax with a drink, good food, or in the wood-fired hot tub.
We love food, we like to share. We often eat together and sometimes we each do our own thing. We'll take you to the market so you can choose what you enjoy. We eat well and generally healthily and ethically. Linda is a professional plant-based chef and she is happy to share skills.
Why not drop us a line? We're looking forward to meeting you!
Francais?

You can learn practical renovation skills, learn English, enjoy a wonderful place to live, good company, loving animals, and lots of fun.
We try to live an organised and ethical life. That means we move things around a lot and label them (!!) but also that we try to re-use and recycle and minimise our plastic use. We try to buy from markets and local shops rather than supermarkets. Raw ingredients make much better meals than plastic-wrapped processed stuff. Linda is a good cook.Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
