  • Description

    Description

We work to support the conservation and management of coastal marine resources through science, and the education and empowerment of local communities. We have an aquaculture center that arms locals, mainly women, with a different skill set, and allows ornamental fishing trade to be done by breeding within tanks. We facilitie interns and university volunteers to gain more field experience, as well as, teach English and marine conservation classes within the local schools. Visitors are allowed to become conscious collaborators by touring the facilities, building reef structures, and seeing the work we’ve accomplished by snorkeling or scuba diving. We are working towards a future in which people recognize the richness and value of marine ecosystems as a common global resource, and in which Indonesian coastal communities are committed and empowered to care for their environment.

Many people come to Bali as tourists when they travel, and don’t get to appreciate the real beauty or culture of a destination. Here, you will be able to be a part of something greater than that, leaving a place better than you found it. You can learn about the importance of what we do and more about marine conservation through all of our various efforts. If you like, you can participate in aquaculture activities, building artificial reef structures, as well as, teaching and gain more knowledge and experience in Indonesian culture and community outreach.

We are looking for someone with a deep knowledge of composting, growing and maintaining an organic garden. There are a couple of plots started, but we are needing more variety and better system implemented for growth. This knowledge will then need to be taught to the people who will maintain it when you leave.
