Our off-grid house and lab is a refurbished stone ruin from 1769. Like an earthship it's ingrained in the hill. It has stone and rock walls for a pleasant indoor climate during hot summers and a wood stove for coziness during cold winters.
It has a permaculture garden and 4 ha of olive and almond trees. It's surrounded by forests, hills and a fantastic, wild river to swim. A mountain-park is near where you can do hiking and climbing. A great international, young and alternative community is in the area.
Our mission is to establish a lab for sustainable and resilience development. We do low-tech, off-grid tech, smart farming, farm hacks, DIY, open source, design thinking, permaculture, green building.
We are LGBTQ friendly and expect you to be so, too. We follow a mindful and nature-human-inclusive spirit.
We are looking for working guests to help in simple and/or more challenging tasks:
- fixing, painting and building (e.g. our terrace roof)
- improving our infrastructure (water and irrigation system, solar power system, p2p internet)
- building an aquaponics system (we already have a prototype that is developed by a small, international community of practice that frequently meets online)
We offer our place to people with and without craft skills. Minimum stay is one week. Long stays are possible.
We also offer sustainable and resilience development residencies to students, engineers, hackers and makers who want to engage in open source prototyping. We form part of the Low-tech Lab Community.

Only pets that are not harmful to the local fauna and flora. A lot of birds and wild life is around.
