Description
About our family
We are a family of five living in beautiful Odsherred in the countryside of Denmark. Our family consists of Frederik and Terese and our three children: Karla (8), Vega (5) and little Pilou (6 months).
We live in a charming old thatched house from 1777, surrounded by nature and close to the sea. Our home has a large garden where we spend a lot of time. There is an outdoor kitchen, a sauna, and plenty of space to relax, garden and enjoy the outdoors.
Karla goes to school and Vega goes to kindergarten. Terese is currently at home with our youngest child, while Frederik works with property rentals about an hour away from where we live.
We enjoy a simple and cozy family life with gardening, cooking, being outside and spending time together. We love meeting people from other cultures and hope to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for anyone staying with us.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Cultural exchange
For us, hosting through Workaway is mainly about cultural exchange and meeting people from different parts of the world. We enjoy sharing everyday life and learning from each other.
As part of our family life, Workawayers are very welcome to join our daily routines – shared meals, cooking together, spending time in the garden, trips to the beach nearby, or cozy evenings at home. In the summer we often cook outside in our outdoor kitchen, and our sauna is something we love to use, especially after a swim in the sea.
We live in a beautiful area with forests, fields and beaches close by, and we are happy to share our favorite places and small local experiences. Sometimes friends or family visit, and there are also small local markets and community events in the area.
We hope to share Danish culture, family life and the simple joys of living close to nature. At the same time, we love learning about other cultures – different foods, traditions, languages and perspectives on life. For us, hosting is a wonderful way for our children to meet people from around the world and grow up with curiosity and openness.

Help
What we would love help with
For us, the most important thing is to welcome someone who would like to be part of our everyday family life. We hope to host a person who enjoys being around children and who would like to spend time with our family.
Help in our home can include simple everyday tasks such as helping with the children, picking up or dropping them off, light cleaning, and sometimes helping with cooking. Mostly we appreciate having an extra pair of hands in daily life.
We also love when people bring their own interests and skills. If you enjoy gardening, small building projects, cooking, creative projects or something completely different, we are very open to that. Our garden is large and there are often small projects around the house, but nothing is fixed – we like to see what feels natural and enjoyable for everyone.
More than anything, we hope to create a warm exchange where you feel comfortable being part of our home and daily rhythm.

It Will be possible to borrow a car on some days if you would like to explore the area.
