Description
Hello,
First of all, we would like to clarify our location. We are located in Satun Province, Thailand, the last province on the coast of the Andaman Sea, bordering Malaysia. This province is quite remote and rural, and the most convenient way to get here is by bus. There are airports available, but they are in neighboring provinces, requiring a drive of more than half an hour.
We are a family of four with two children, ages 10 and 8. We are friendly and excited to get to know you and your culture when we have the pleasure of welcoming you into our home. Below are some things to consider as you decide whether to come and stay with us.
Farmwork: Our farm work mainly includes cutting grass, harvesting palm fruits, fertilizing, planting, and watering plants, especially during Thailand’s dry season.
Housework: House chores include sweeping and mopping floors, gardening, washing dishes, trimming the grass around the house, watering plants, and caring for and bathing our animals.
Linguistic Exchange: If you're interested, you can join us at a local school and assist Thai students with their English-speaking skills. It's a great opportunity for cultural and language exchange.
Building Relationships: We believe in nurturing relationships within our community by spending time together, joining in farm work, and attending important events like weddings, funerals, and birthdays. We also make an effort to help others when needed.
Sharing Love and Joy: While we can't specify every task, we invite you to share positive energy, love, and help when needed. Be ready to join us in activities like biking, camping, and visiting people in our community. Flexibility is key, and we are excited to welcome you!
Work Schedule:
There’s no fixed work schedule. Just be flexible and easygoing. Once your task is completed, you're free to enjoy your own time.
Food:
We cook mostly local dishes, and if we're busy, we eat outside. Feel free to join us or even learn to cook some of Southern Thai dishes, such as Massaman curry, Gaeng Som, Tom Yum, and more. We also cook Filipino and Korean meals. You’re welcome to introduce us to your own favorite recipes that reflects your culture. If we’re not home, you’re welcome to help yourself or explore nearby food options.
Additionals:
During your time with us, you’ll have the chance to visit beautiful spots around our village, such as waterfalls, caves, rivers, sunrise and sunset viewpoints, night markets, islands, beaches, and hot springs. You can also enjoy activities like kayaking and hiking while immersing yourself in our culture and language. We don’t expect anything in return—just your sincere love and care for us.
Since we are Christians, we gather for worship every Sunday and only accept couples who are officially married. We hope that’s okay with you.
We have children at home, and none of us smoke or drink alcohol. Therefore, smoking and drinking are not allowed on our property. Once you stay with us, we welcome you into our family and take responsibility for you. We kindly ask that you seek permission if you wish to go out alone. We’ll provide assistance, accommodation, and access to our motorcycle and bicycle. Your room is air-conditioned.
Looking forward to welcoming you!
