Experience a 250 cow dairy farm near Mallow in Cork. Three of us work on the farm but we need help with calf rearing and occasional milking from February until April. You will live in your own apartment. You will be fully insured to work on the farm, be registered to work and paid the minimum wage. Mallow is a busy town with lots of sports facilities etc. It is a 30min train journey to Cork and a 2 hour train journey to Dublin.

Your main duties will be helping with calf rearing and milking cows occasionally. Other duties may include cleaning cubicles. It would be helpful if you have some animal experience as calves can be delicate.

I spent 3 months working on Janet’s farm. Our main job was feeding milk to the calves every morning and evening. The calves were so lively and adorable, they made me laugh a lot. I already miss them❤️

He met Petr through a workaway student who was working for us. It was a very lucky meeting. Petr is a kind, considerate person so it was lovely having him around the farm. He wanted to learn about milking cows which he did the first evening. He was excellent at milking and enjoyed doing it. He also helped with feeding cattle. He did a lot of… read more strimming under the electric fences also. He was very punctual every morning and hard working and did any task he was asked to do in an excellent way with a smile on his face. I stayed at Janet's farm for couple of weeks. They agreed to stayed with them thanks to my friend who already work here for full time. I am very pleased I could meet Janet and her family and be part of the daily routine on the farm.
