    Description

Hello / Hej hej / 妳好 / привет / Hola / Bonjour …... to all workawayer(s), welcome to Penang, Malaysia.

As the title, I would like to learn more about Scandinavian and European countries. Visited those countries before and it would be nice to meet some international friends. Prepare some basic teaching material like alphabets or numbers for beginners. I'm also looking for a local British language, i learn British language for many years but never really hear the local slang.

I would expect teaching languages or deep positive culture exchange for 5 hours of help, 5 days a week (25 hours in total with 2 days off) in exchange for accommodation and 3 meals a day. Please share with me of your preferred teaching time and date as well. Teaching a new language is not an easy task, i take it serious to learn your language and culture. So, it would be best you can stay at least 2 weeks or more.

Come at any date as long as it is not my holiday or outstation time. Prefer a female helper as the house you stay is rented for females. Prefer to stay a week or more as learning new languages is not a one day task.

    If you are interested, kindly:

    1. Indicate how many days you wish to stay, and the date you can arrive here (last minute booking is a bit difficult to arrange). If you are not comfortable staying here, kindly inform me early, so that I am prepared to say goodbye to you and a free gift (like a handmade postcard that is written in different kinds of languages from me).

    2. Tell me why you wish to come here? What do you expect from me to give you in return? Like room arrangement or WiFi or food?

    3. How many people are coming?

    4. Share with me your religion, nationality, and originally from which country.

    5. Scan your photo ID of Passport, insurance policy or your emergency contact details when I accept to host you. For your info, we also had hostel rent here for more than 10 years to local guests with normal procedure, do not worry that we will misuse your passport, you can cross line for workaway use only.

In return, helper(s) would be rewarded with:

    1. Free independent room with comfortable mattress and bathroom. Anything like normal house equipment you can use by introduction on the first day.

    2. Free one unlimited WiFi sim card for mobile phone if you needed.

    3. Simple breakfast like bread and Jam, biscuits, coffee, free drink mineral water. If you like what we eat, you can buy the ingredients at the market and let us make it for the next meal.

    4. If i'm not busy, weekends car pools with us to Penang city craving for different races’ food and drinks, watch movie, outdoor activities, sports, relax at beach, sing karaoke, etc,

    5. If you like to learn some simple Chinese language or cook Chinese meals, we can teach you too.

    6. About transport, you can choose to walk for a short distance or we have an e-bike for you or Grab a car.

    1. About days off: we would expect teaching languages or deep culture exchange for 5 hours of help, 5 days a week (25 hours in total with 2 days off) in exchange for accommodation and 3 meals a day. Preferred after my working hour, above 6 pm. If you are sick, you can rest and continue the next day. Basically it work like this, it is hard to explain in details without seeing and discuss with the real helper. You are welcome to share with us your preferred date and time too.

    2. I would appreciate a positive attitude like honesty, a humble and friendly person. Culture lover and teach us your native languages. If you have culture shock, please do not feel shy to ask me, I will explain as much as I can to make you feel at home.

    3. One female helper only as I think one language teacher is enough for me. But if you feel shy, you can negotiate with me to bring one more friend to accompany you.

    4. Someone quiet as I’m a quiet person as well. Sometimes, I can be very talkative and humorous if you know me well. I spend a lot of time improving myself like reading, writing, singing, culture exchange, etc. I don’t go to night bars or drink alcohol or smoke, but a social wine or champagne is my favourite.

    5. Main task is to teach me your native languages, no extra work.

    6. A bonus point if you can exchange your facebook, instagram or linkedin or any vlog related to you in real life. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

You can stay in our rented female house. It's a private room with a toilet and hot shower. In the above photos, there is a single or queen's bed with a comfortable mattress. A small study table and a chair.

Each room is also attached with a ceiling fan and air-conditioning. Sorry, air-con is only available for our rented and paid tenant.

Our location is Pulau Pinang (South of Penang) around 1 hour drive to Penang International Airport.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Our nearest visit area could be a 100 years old building that was built by Britain and kept well during world war II, watching fireflies at the river, catching octopus, etc. There are two morning markets open every day selling fresh vegetables, meat, clothing, necessities, etc. Nearest bank, clinic, phone shop, restaurant, almost everything in a small town.

If i'm not busy, i can drive you 30 minutes to Penang city on weekends which is more fun, more yummy food, more heritage building, beautiful beach, and more excitement from day to night indoor or outdoor activities.

For the nearest hot spot of Malaysia tourism, I can recommend you to Genting highland 3 hours driving (casino & theme park), Pulau Langkawi 1 hours driving and 1 hour boat ride (feed eagle), cameron highland 1 hours plus driving (eating fresh fruit), etc.
