Description
We are a small family farm of 3.2 hectars of land. We are off-grid permaculture homesteaders! We are Chris, 40, Alina, 9, Ivar, 3 and Olle 1.
I (Chris) am a teacher of homesteading and permaculture.
We have 2 cats (outside only), chickens and ducks. We grow vegetables on approximately 200m2, which is enough for the family for most of the year. We grow fruit, berries and nuts. We produce electricity via solar panels and heat the house exclusively with wood that we harvest from our land. We do not have water toilets, only an outhouse and a seperating toilet inside the house. The house has no neighbors within 300m making for a very quiet and biodiverse valley haven. We make boatloads of compost.
We love to be outside, go swimming, eat good food and laugh.Types of help and learning opportunities

I will teach you what I know about the systems we have in place here, as well as permaculture design. You will get a good insight into a small family farm and really get the chance to help us in a time of need.

Help
--Spring update: the main tasks will be vegetable growing, perennial plantings and window renovations --
As a volunteer you will be part of our team and family. Tasks include chopping wood, gardening, planting, making biochar, building, grafting, making compost, working with our animals, helping with kids, carpentry, renovations, cooking, cleaning, etc. All the same stuff that I (Chris) do really.
What we do depends on needs, timing, time, weather, as well as your interests and skills. Maybe we will work on developing our water system which is run on a ram pump? Maybe we will build a mobile chicken tractor? Maybe a big autumn tree planting? Definitely vegetable gardening though!
Are you mostly interested in hanging with kids and helping around the house? That works too. We are interested in making this a win-win and are very intent on our interns not feeling 'used'.Languages

Food we cook together. We harvest what we can and buy the rest for our needs. We eat meat but that's not a dealbreaker. Vegetarian is no issue. Vegan is hard for us so you may find a better place as a vegan to be completely honest.
I am currently working on creating a living space in the attic. It will be rather simple but it will be private. You can be involved in designing it and making it feel cozy if you like.A little more information
