Description
Hi there,
** Please note we cannot accept any applicants now due to family reasons**
we are a young, married couple with a bunch of rescue dogs and a cat. We foster dogs for a rescue organisation, so our house is always full of 4 legged creatures, running, playing and just enjoying life in general.
We live in a small, cosy house with a lovely garden, where we grow veggies, herbs and flowers. It's a little oasis where you can sit in the sun and read a good book all day. Altough, right now it's covered in snow :)
Our routine is very simple; go out with the dogs in the morning, feed the cat, work our full time jobs, then it's walkies with the dogs again in the afternoon, dinner and boardgames / reading/ watching movies in the evening.
It's a simple but joyful life, we don't need much. Seeing our creatures happy and safe is what makes us fulfilled.
We live in a quiet, little village surrounded by fields and forests. There are no shops or cultural activities on offer, just peace and walks in nature. For some, it could be lonely. For others, this could be paradise.
If this sounds good to you, please get in touch :)Types of help and learning opportunities
Animal Care
Help around the house
House sitting
Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Our place is perfect for someone who wants to relax and recharge, while having the best animal company around. Looking after the animals is a great way to connect with other living creatures.
You can walk in a beautiful green forest and just breathe. You can do yoga, read, cook, watch movies, take a bath, have a nap in the garden (in summer).. Time seems to stop here.
We have stable and fast internet, so you can stream movies or learn something new, take an online class in someting you have always been intersted in ;)Help
We need someone to help us with our 4 rescue dogs while we work. This means spending time with them downstairs, while we are in the home office upstairs. Two of the dogs are newcomers from a shelter and we need to make sure everyone is comfortable and happy.
Our own dogs usually sleep all day, so there is little actual work involved. Just being with them is enough, so you are welcome to read, work, sew, nap, plan new adventures, or whatever you like.
Our fosters can require more attention to help them settle down. So maybe extra play time or additional walk outside.
Our cat is the easiest creature. She is an older lady, so she sleeps a lot. She is very friendly and likes cuddles, but she doesn't need anyone to be with her constantly. If you can spend some time with her in the evening, she will appreciate it very much.
Apart from that, if you can help us vacuuming the house once or twice a week, and cleaning the kitchen when we are too busy, we would really appreciate that. If you enjoy cooking, you are very welcome to take over the kitchen :)Languages

A cosy little bedroom upstairs with a big bed and plants is available. You will have your privacy from everyone else.
What else ...
Our village has no shops. There is a little bread van coming a few times a week, so you can get delicious fresh buns. Otherwise you need to take a bus to the next village.
You can let us know if there is anything special you need and we will get it for you.
Please note that we are vegans, so the food on offer will be plant based :)
Another thing to keep in mind: our house is very old and doesn't heat up as well as modern homes. It can be a bit a chilly in winter. We will have the wooden stove running, but do bring warm clothes with you :)
Plenty of blankets available!A little more information
