Kirsty and I have a house that is rather like Piccadilly Circus, so we have friends and family all bumping into each other, usually in the kitchen. It can be fun - it can be pandemonium... If you are outgoing, funny, good with people, don't mind getting your hands dirty and willing to just muck in with the rest of the family, then you'll have a good time here. We are really easy-going so it won't be a huge slog, and we do live in a beautiful part of Scotland. We have done Workaway for a couple of years now, so we understand the regime and we have become a bit more discerning about who comes. Oh, and Kirsty's some cook, so you won't go hungry. I have told her though that she's not to 'mother' any of you. Four kids off and away, so we've been there, done that...

We know a lot of people of all ages in the vicinity so we actively push our Workawayers towards them.

  • Help

Anything that we expect other members of the family to do. A bit of housework, painting doors, clearing roof valleys, cleaning the tennis court, probably playing on it as well, maybe driving a tractor if I think it's suitable, general garden work.

    What else ...

Dundee is five miles away and has a thriving university so there is a great young buzz about the place. There are also evening language courses held in the university and other colleges in the town for improving your English language. St. Andrews, another university town and known worldwide as the Home of Golf, is half an hour away. Perth, our county town and very beautiful, is also half an hour away. There is a good bus service from our local village that takes you in all directions. And if you are feeling fit, we can lend you bikes to go off exploring the surrounding countryside.

The farm itself is now small (about 30 ha) but what with the amount of people who always seem to be around the place, it's never dull. I challenge you to think otherwise...
