    Description

We are a young family who live just outside a quaint little town in the North West of Tasmania. Mountain ranges hugging stunning coast lines and a lovely community to top it off. Our home has abundant wildlife of bandicoots, wallabies and birds

Our human residents are two adults (Lisa and Julian) and Finn, Lenny and Toby (7,4 and 2) We are outdoorsy, traveller types who love good food, cooking and community. Julian speaks Italian and French and has lived in both countries for extended periods. Lisa has travelled and lived in Asia, North and South America and wouldn’t tell you but speaks a very small amount of Spanish.

We have two properties. One that we live on 3 mins from the ocean which is a 3 acre permaculture property with mini goats, ducks, chooks orchards, veggies etc. And one 20 mins away that sits on 60 acres

We have 4 resident Australian Miniature Goats. If you haven’t spent much time with Aus Minis you are in for a treat. They are inquisitive, kind, very gentle and very small! They’re currently up to knee heigh and around 8-10 months old. These goats are our pets but also have a role in weed management, fertilising and reducing fire risk around the property.

    Help

We are available to host from 26 August onwards. We can host for longer periods )1 month etc). Our needs for support change depending on what’s happening and the skills and interests of the workaways. Some idea of supports needed are:

Daily we need to take care of our animals (and humans!) and manage the house and land. Things that keep us busy are fencing, building and updating chook houses, preparing soil for the next planting season, seed savings, sowing seeds, pruning, fencing and so on!

Inside the home we welcome any help with children, cooking, house hold work for the more indoorsy type.

We are flexible and accommodating and want to match your skills with the right help and support
