  Rural life with horses in the mountains of southern Spain!
  
  We are looking for a motivated horse au pair who would like to spend time with our four horses in the Spanish countryside in exchange for food and accommodation. The horses range in age from 15 to 32 years and live in open-stall housing with Romie and Harm (both retired) near the mountain village of Frigiliana, about 60 km from Málaga. Additionally, there are two cats, two dogs and a turtle living here. You will have your own private room, and the bathroom will be shared. Living together is very family-like, and Romie and Harm are happy to take you on trips, to concerts, or to local restaurants. The house has a stunning view of the sea, and Frigiliana is a 20minute walk away. The coastal town of Nerja, with its beautiful beaches and shops, is about another 20 minutes away by bus. On weekends, you will have time off to either explore the area or simply relax. Your main responsibilities will include the care and management of the horses, such as feeding, mucking out, and maintaining the equipment. Two of the horses belong to Petra, so she comes by several times a week to train or move the horses with you and Romie. We try to do a variety of activities with the horses, including ground work, liberty work, light dressage, and trail rides through the mountains, all using a bit less bridle. Since the horses are rather narrow, we ask that you weigh no more than 65 kg. If you’re excited about rural life in Andalusia, we would love to hear from you. Please tell us a little about yourself and your riding experience. Please note that we are unable to offer vegan food, but vegetarian meals are no problem. The minimum stay is two months, but we would prefer a longer commitment. Knowledge of German or Spanish is preferred. Our mother tongue is german. It is also possible to come as a pair, even if one person cannot ride and instead helps with the house and garden.

  Wir suchen ein engagiertes Pferde-Aupair, das Lust hat gegen Kost und Logis sich mit unseren vier Pferden im spanischen Campo zu beschäftigen. Die Pferde sind zwischen 15 und 32 Jahre alt und leben in Offenstallhaltung bei Romie und Harm (rüstige Rentner) in der Nähe des idyllischen Bergdorfes Frigiliana, etwa 60 km von Málaga. Des Weiteren leben hier zwei Katzen, zwei Hunde und eine Schildkröte. Du wirst in einem eigenen Zimmer mit gemeinsam genutztem Bad wohnen. Das Zusammenleben ist sehr familiär und Romie und Harm nehmen dich gerne mit auf Ausflüge, zu Konzerten oder in die örtlichen Gaststätten. Das Haus bietet eine traumhafte Aussicht auf das Meer, und Frigiliana ist in etwa 20 Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen. Der Küstenort Nerja mit Stränden und Geschäften, ist etwa weitere 20 Minuten mit dem Bus entfernt. Am Wochenende hast du frei und kannst die Umgebung erkunden oder einfach entspannen. Deine Aufgaben umfassen hauptsächlich die Pflege und Betreuung der Pferde (Füttern, Misten, Pflege der Ausrüstung etc.). Zwei der Pferde gehören Petra, daher kommt sie mehrmals die Woche vorbei, um gemeinsam mit dir und Romie die Pferde zu trainieren bzw. zu bewegen. Wir versuchen uns und den Pferden Abwechslung zu bieten, dazu gehören Bodenarbeit, Freiarbeit, leichte Dressur auf dem Platz und Ausritte durch die Berge. Die Pferde werden gebisslos geritten. Da sie eher schmal gebaut sind, solltest du ein Körpergewicht von maximal 65 kg haben. Wenn du Lust auf das Landleben in Andalusien hast, freuen wir uns auf deine Nachricht. Schreibe uns gerne etwas über dich und deine Reiterfahrung. Bitte beachte, dass wir aus organisatorischen Gründen kein veganes Essen anbieten können, aber vegetarische Kost ist kein Problem. Der Mindestaufenthalt beträgt 2 Monate, gerne länger. Deutsch oder Spanischkenntnisse sind bevorzugt. Unsere Muttersprache ist deutsch. Es ist auch möglich zu zweit zu kommen, auch wenn eine Person nicht reiten kann und stattdessen in Haus und Garten hilft.
  
  Vida rural con caballos en las montañas del sur de España
  
  Estamos buscando un/a au pair de caballos comprometido/a que tenga ganas de pasar tiempo con nuestros cuatro caballos en el campo español, a cambio de comida y alojamiento. Los caballos tienen entre 15 y 32 años y viven en un establo abierto junto a Romie y Harm (ambos ya jubilados), cerca del pintoresco pueblo de montaña de Frigiliana, a unos 60 km de Málaga. Además, aquí viven dos gatos, dos perros y una tortuga. Tendrás tu propia habitación y compartirás el baño con los demás. La convivencia es muy familiar, y Romie y Harm estarán encantados de llevarte a excursiones, conciertos o a los restaurantes locales. La casa tiene una vista impresionante al mar, y Frigiliana está a unos 20 minutos caminando. El pueblo costero de Nerja, con sus playas y tiendas, está a unos 20 minutos en autobús. Los fines de semana tendrás tiempo libre para explorar los alrededores o simplemente relajarte. Tus principales responsabilidades serán el cuidado y manejo de los caballos, como alimentarlos, limpiar sus establos y mantener su equipo. Dos de los caballos pertenecen a Petra, quien viene varias veces a la semana para entrenar o ejercitar a los caballos contigo y Romie. Tratamos de ofrecer variedad a los caballos y a nosotros mismos, lo que incluye trabajo en el suelo, trabajo en libertad, una ligera doma en el picadero y paseos por las montañas. Los caballos se montan sin bocado. Dado que son caballos de constitución más estrecha, pedimos que no peses más de 65 kg. Ten en cuenta que, por razones organizativas, no podemos ofrecer comida vegana, pero la comida vegetariana no es un problema. La estancia mínima es de 2 meses, aunque preferimos un compromiso más largo. Se valoran conocimientos de alemán o español. Nuestra lengua de materna es el aleman. También es posible venir en pareja, incluso si una persona no puede montar a caballo y, en su lugar, ayuda en la casa y el jardín.
