    Description

Our journey began by accident when we came across this breathtaking block in the Northern Rivers. With distant views of Protestors Falls, golden sunsets over the Nimbin Valley, and the iconic Nimbin Rock along with the characters of Nimbin we instantly fell inlove with the area.

We started our journey with pasture-raised cattle, sheep, chickens, and ducks. They have become our partners, by helping to keep the grass down while supporting us towards a healthier, more sustainable way of life. While incredibly rewarding, it hasn’t been without challenges. Raising a young family alongside the responsibilities of the farm has shown us that we can’t do it alone.

As our farm continues to grow with newborn lambs, chicks, and calves, we grow alongside it, learning farm life is tuff but rewarding.

We’re a young family raising two small active children on this beautiful 100-acre property, we are building a sustainable lifestyle from the ground up. We would ideally welcome Workawayers who love the outdoors, don’t mind getting their hands dirty, rise early and would enjoy rewarding days. Workawayers will not be asked to help with any business-related activities.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

You’ll gain practical, hands-on experience learning how to muster and manage cattle and sheep, how and when to increase cover cropping for pasture improvement systems. We’ll show you how rotational grazing helps increase cropping ability, improve soil health, support healthier cattle, and boost overall farm productivity. You’ll learn about sustainable pest management techniques, working with the land rather than against it.

Beyond the farm gates, you can explore the vibrant and alternative culture of nearby Nimbin, a unique community known for its creativity, free spirit, and strong sense of connection!

Nimbin is known for its colourful alternative culture and welcoming community. Wander the rainbow-painted main street filled with unique shops, cafes, artisan galleries and the iconic Nimbin Museum, which showcases the town’s rich history and heritage. You can browse local creations and fresh produce at the Nimbin Markets held on the 4th and 5th Sundays of the month, as well as the weekly Nimbin Farmers’ Markets on Wednesdays, perfect for tasting regional fruits, vegetables, cheeses and breads. Nature lovers will enjoy nearby sights like Nightcap National Park with its lush rainforest walks and waterfalls, the dramatic volcanic formations of Nimbin Rocks and plenty of hiking trails through ancient forests. The community spirit really shines during annual events such as the colourful Nimbin MardiGrass and Nimbin Roots Festival, which is held in May each year. Strolls the Rainbow Walk in Aquarius Park and learn about the history of Nimbin and aboriginal culture. It is guaranteed to offer you a memorable blend of culture, creativity and natural beauty to explore.

If you’re eager to learn, not afraid of hard work, and ready to experience authentic rural living with a cultural twist, we’d love to welcome you.
