    Description

Hostel in the heart of Oaxaca City Centro looking for friendly, outgoing Workawayers!

We usually have at least 6 volunteers at any given time and currently employ 3 local staff members — Javier (night receptionist) and Maribel & Luis (our amazing morning cleaning crew). We already have a few helpers, but we’re looking for YOU to join us and support our SOCIAL MEDIA & CONTENT CREATION!

As our social media/content creator, you’ll help capture the daily vibe of the hostel — from events, guests, and tours to the fun, welcoming atmosphere here. You’ll take photos and videos, create short reels or TikToks, share updates about activities, and bring fresh ideas to highlight the community spirit we’re proud of here in Oaxaca. If you enjoy storytelling, have an eye for aesthetics, and love creating engaging content, this role is perfect for you!

    Our hostel features:

    A pool
    Comfy beds
    Spacious outdoor common areas
Ping-pong tables, board games, and plush couches

Oaxaca City is full of culture, color, and fun — from art galleries, museums, botanical gardens, and fantastic restaurants to artisan markets and photo-worthy streets. We are also surrounded by beautiful natural areas that are easy to reach and offer stunning views.

Oaxaca city is the food capital of Mexico-- so there is much to eat, drink and explore here. Immerse yourself with locals and tourists alike.

By being part of our team, you will be part of the Family. Our hostel is ideal for solo travelers and being an inclusive hostel is what we aim for. We want our volunteers to feel at home, but also have the energy to make it feel like home to others as well-- because when all is said and done, there is nothing better than making connections with new people while exploring new cultures.

We will be offering salsa classes, you can practice your Spanish with our staff, make an alebrije at a neighboring village (after they read your energy and tell you what your spirit guide is), taste the differences in mezcal produced in different ways.
We'd love to teach you about the ways of Oaxaca!

    Maximum 5 hours a day, 3 days a week

We will need Workawayers helping in a variety of ways — welcoming guests and checking them in, socializing with guests to ensure they’re having a great time, helping with social media content, and occasionally taking guests on mini adventures throughout the city. We want you to create lasting friendships with our guests, so you’re not just here to work — you’re here to grow, connect, and enjoy the experience!

For clarity, Workawayers will not, under any circumstances, be asked to participate in bar-related duties.
