Description
Hello
We are a beautiful 15 room boutique guest house on a 5 acre horse trekking ranch 3km outside the vibrant town of Filandia.
Our farm is located on a hill and is surrounded by nature. We get many species of birds visiting us and have lots of flowers in the gardens. Our horse trekking tours range from day trips to full weeks away in the mountains. Our guests love staying here because they can disconnect from chaotic city life and enjoy relaxing in beautiful surroundings.
We have been hosting workawayers for years and work best with people that enjoy being outside in nature, that are self motivated and keen to help others, that enjoy socialising but are also happy during periods that the hostel is quiet.
What we offer:
we have different types of offerings in return for your collaboration, depending on what you can do to help us.
For example, if you have a trade or a skill, we can offer an excellent exchange in the main hotel and activities.
For our basic placements we can offer a room in return for 4/5 hours help per day, (25 hours/week)
We are mainly looking for people that have trades, or have specific skills in building/ construction. Also those with experience in hotels, people who help in marketing etc.
To apply please tell us
* what experience you have.
* What you want to get out of the workaway experience?
* what type of person you are, your likes and dislikes?
* how long you want to stay and what dates?
* what could you offer in exchange for your place to stay?
Our farm is a quiet and relaxed place to stay with a small team of local, employed staff. We have 1 full time worker who takes care of our 8 horses. 1 worker who cleans the house and cooks dinner for the guests, a part-time receptionist, and a part time manager.

Our farm is located in Quindio, at the heart of Colombia´s Traditional Coffee district, an area designated as a Unesco World Heritage Site for its historic coffee farming tradition. By visiting this area you will feel as though you have stepped back in time. The town is rich in culture and the local people are proud to show you their local tradition´s, such as the way coffee is grown and processed, how to dance salsa and how to drink aguadiente (the local alcohol).
There are many things to do in the local area whilst you stay at our farm. Including:
·Visit Cocora Valley cloud forest and see the incredible 100ft high palm trees.
·Hike through the Barbas Bremen National park to search for Howler Monkeys or visit the butterfly sanctuary and botanical gardens.
·Walk to local waterfalls near the farm.
·Visit our neighbour’s coffee farm and see for yourself how Coffee is produced.
·Horse Riding or walking to explore the beautiful local countryside.
·Enjoy eating both local and international foods in some excellent restaurants in town. There are also a number a bars which get very lively at the weekends!
·On our farm you are welcome to use all the facilities. Depending on the number of guests we have at the time, we cook family style evening meals.
We have lived in Colombia since 2016 so have knowledge of the local area and Colombian Friends who live here and can help with whatever you may need. There is plenty of opportunity to practise the language and get the opportunity to explore the area.
We are travelled around South America and south east Asia extensively with and without motorcycles so can advise based on our experiences.
Help us create something truly special for travellers who want to stray from the beaten path.Projects involving children

I just stayed and helped for two days but it was still a really good experience and a lot of fun. What should I say.
