Help us create an out of this world glamping in the Mayan Jungle, just 25 minutes from Holbox Island, Mexico, in a beautiful 11 hectares of land in front of an intermittent lagoon.
By "out of this world" we mean literally, at least in looks, architecturally like if it was designed by extraterrestrial aliens. Creating an atmosphere of being in another cosmic dimension. By placing nature in first place and designing everything around it from a new perspective. Like a "secret" or magical place that you enter and feel disconnected from the regular world, and in a strange way it feels like home.
It is an opportunity to experience simple living, taking it slow, appreciating nature and through nature connecting with our inner self. A way to rewild ourselves,
living with small group of like minded people. Mostly for outdoorsy people.
Once we are able to receive the first Workawayers, (3 or 4 persons) the plan is to start creating the common areas (pool, terrace, lounge areas, Harvesting garden, main kitchen, open exterior dinning room, decks in front of the lagoon and the glamping units.
We are 1:15 from Cancún, 1:00 from Playa del Carmen, and just 25 minutes from Holbox Island and it's spectacular beaches. And 5 minutes from a small peaceful Mayan town. Easily accesible but feeling right into the jungle.
I am an architect with experience creating off grid projects around the Riviera Maya, including the design and masterplan of a 375 hectare sustainable development with 20 hectares of common areas. I was also featured on TV show about tiny houses with a design I made of a small house in the middle of the jungle.
We are on phase 0 planning everything that we need to accommodate Workawayers, and currently we are building the accommodations (kitchen, bathroom, tents for workawayers etc).
We are currently delayed because we had the opportunity to make the site bigger adding even more land, so we are thinking to start receiving people in late october possibly sooner, but most likely then.

Helping and learning about the Mayan locals of the town that is just 5 minutes away. They still have their traditions and elaborate products, like organic cacao soap, textiles, handcrafts etc. Incorporate them in the future glamping with their local traditional cuisine, exchange meals with them, generally make them part of the experience adding value to them.
Thanks all for the interest, we would like to prioritize in this order :
1) Marketing, content creation and business development, networking, help in launch a crowdfunding for the main glamping in exchange of nights as pre-sale for the first guests on the glamping units.
2) land up keeping and landscaping Roads with stone , cleaning leaves, etc.
3) Harvesting and gardening. Working with plants, we have some orchids, Etc.
4) Hospitality and operation once we have 2 or 3 glamping units.
We don't mean serving customers, waiting tables etc.
We mean welcoming future guests, and showing them around. Helping organizing the arrivals, logistics, the shopping etc. Once the glamping starts operating we will hire regular staff for the guests.
5) General help, kitchen, ideas, incorporating in the glamping holistic practices, good vibes, etc.
Number 1 can even be done remotely at first, then joining in for the stay in the near future just as guest in vacations.
Also, this could be from a 2 week stay or less, to a multi year opportunity for someone that could see him or herself running entirely the Glamping. Being part of its inception all the way through the operation. This of course would be a paid position once it starts generating money with the first units, and possibility of associate according and reciprocal to what the person provides.
This host offers a language exchange
Maybe not directly with me, but with a regular worker that is part of the team, It would be nice if he learns some English, he speaks Spanish and Mayan.
Shiftpod mini for singles and shiftpod 2 tents for a couple. All bedding provided, toiliterites etc.
The weather is very nice, but a bit hot June July and August. But the land has a lot of breeze. And we will provide fans, and cold drinks but maybe not AC since we use solar panels.
Also not working on the hottest hours of the day.
It would be entirely off grid.
Satellite internet, so maybe not netflix just normal internet.
We can provide all groceries and food. Mostly self service and on some times we can rotate on who helps with preparing meals.
We are close to Holbox island, to go spend the day in the beach. Also close 1 hour away to Cancún or Playa del Carmen for the nights outs. Locally lots of jungle and some Mayan ruins to explore.
Limited internet access
We have pets
We are smokers
Can host families
Yes, but with a bit limited satellite internet. Possibility of adding more internet.
