Description
We have a Galiano Island five-acre property and large garden with veggies, flowers, fruit including grapes, apples, pears and plums, plus many raspberries along with tayberries and loganberries.
We are at the more remote north end, near many superb ocean and forest hikes. We like to eat well and I enjoy baking. Accommodations can include a separate studio for a single or couple.

We have hosted travellers from all over the world and love to expand our horizons, plus share about our travels and BC history. I am a journalist and author/contributor to several books about Indigenous history and art. Galiano is a wonderful farm-to-table community with lots of cultural, community and arts events—plus excellent restaurants in a wide price range.
Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
Help
Gardening is our primary need, as well as splitting and moving firewood. Help with garden or other building projects would be great, and we love to share the healthy food of other cultures. Building or simple repair skills are much valued!

We are fluent in English, can carry on a conversation in French and Spanish. Our son is fluent in Bosnian/Serbian/Croatian and often lives with us.Accommodation
A separate studio is available with sleeping loft and an outdoor shower, with shared kitchen and bathroom. We like to enjoy good meals with interesting conversation. We have travelled fairly widely and like to share cultural information and traditions, including Indigenous history. I am a director of the Galiano Conservancy, which owns or manages 1,250 acres of land, including two permaculture gardens with volunteer opportunities and fun events.
What else ...
We are close to beaches, beautiful forest hikes and amazing scenery. Wildlife and birds are abundant—but no predators who can hurt you. We live from the land and close to the land, selling & shopping locally as much as possible. Galiano also is only a short ferry ride from 2 major cities—Vancouver and Victoria—and offers easy access to Vancouver Island.
