  Hello! I'm Pia and I live with my family on a farm in the south of Portugal. I, my husband and our daughter (2) live in one house and my parents in another house next door. We founded an animal welfare association to help the animals there. We mainly have dogs (15-30) who are all free, but we also have cats, chickens, pigs and horses. We are looking for kind people who want to help us with the daily work and who enjoy working with animals. Since it is very lonely here, we are looking for people who like to be alone and don't need to party every day and come to meet new people. Of course there is also something to do here, but it is really very remote. We live about 30 minutes from the sea and also make regular trips to the beach. There is no public transport. There is a small wooden house available, with a kitchen and double bed, a private outdoor shower (with warm water) and a private composting toilet. The tasks mainly include dealing with animals (feeding, cleaning out, going for walks, playing), doing something in the garden, watering trees, looking after our daughter from time to time when it suits us and accompanying us on rescue missions. Since we have an animal sanctuary, we only accept vegan/vegetarian helpers. It is also important to us that the person who comes gets on well with children. Communication is very important to us, which is why we can currently only accept German-speaking people.
  
  
  Hallo! Ich bin Pia und lebe mit meiner Familie auf einen Hof im Süden von Portugal. Ich, mein Mann und unsere Tochter (2) leben in einem Haus und meine Eltern in einem anderen Haus nebendran. Wir haben einen Tierschutzverein gegründet um den Tieren vor Ort helfen zu können. Wir haben vor allem Hunde (15-30) die alle frei sind, wir haben aber auch Katzen, Hühner, Schweine und Pferde.
  Wir suchen liebe Menschen die uns helfen möchten die Tägliche Arbeit zu stemmen und denen das arbeiten mit Tieren Spaß macht. Da es hier sehr einsam ist, suchen wir Menschen die gerne alleine sind und nicht jeden Tag Party brauchen und kommen um neue Leute kennenzulernen. Natürlich gibt es hier auch etwas zum unternehmen, aber es ist wirklich sehr abgelegen.
  Wir wohnen ca. 30 min vom Meer entfernt und machen auch regelmäßig Ausflüge zum Strand. Es gibt keine Öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel .
  Es steht ein kleines Holzhaus zu Verfügung, mit Küche und Doppelbett, eine private Außendusche (mit warmem Wasser) und eine private Komposttoilette.
  Zu den Aufgaben gehört vor allem der Umgang mit Tieren (Füttern, ausmisten, spazieren gehen, spielen), etwas im Garten machen, Bäume wässern, wenn es passt ab und zu auf unsere Tochter aufpassen und uns auf Rettungsaktionen begleiten.
  Da wir einen Tierschutzhof haben, nehmen wir nur vegane/vegetarische Helfer an.
  Außerdem ist es uns wichtig das die Person die kommt gut mit Kindern klar kommt. Uns Kommunikation sehr wichtig, weshalb wir momentan nur deutschsprachige Leute aufnehmen können.

  Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

  We live in a small village where there are different events every week, but otherwise we live very isolated. We do have a car and are often out and about. With the large pack of dogs and the many animals, this is an opportunity to learn how to deal with animals.
  
  Wir wohnen in einem Kleinen Dorf wo es jede Woche verschiedene Veranstaltungen gibt, aber ansonsten leben wir sehr isoliert. Wir haben aber ein Auto und sind oft unterwegs.
  Durch das große Hunderudel und die vielen Tiere ist dies eine Chance den Umgang mit Tieren zu lernen.

  We live about 30 minutes from the sea, there is a large lake and we are 20 minutes from the train station from where you can travel to Lisbon/Faro/Porto.
  
  Wir leben ca 30 min vom Meer entfernt, es gibt einen großen See und wir sind 20 min vom Bahnhof weg, von wo aus man nach Lissabon/Faro/Porto fahren kann.
