Description
We are a single-parent family (mama and 4-year-old son) in Belgium, looking for someone to join our family and help out with babysitting and some household chores. Being a single parent can be a real challenge on a practical level, so an extra set of hands and eyes would come in handy, and my son really loves company. I've lived abroad so I'm very familiar with sharing living spaces and getting to know other cultures, and I would like my son to be able to experience the same!
Very important note: anyone staying at our house should have a very good level of English, otherwise it becomes quite impossible to communicate with my sonTypes of help and learning opportunities

If you're interested in the field of education/pedagogy/social work/psychology or you're just a natural with kids and you want to get some real life experience, this is a good opportunity. You will be able to spend a lot of time with a 4-year-old boy and at the same time get to know Belgium as a country and the surrounding area (Belgium is a small country and we don't live far from the border with The Netherlands).

Help
I'm looking for someone who loves children and has experience with them, someone with a kind and calm personality, who doesn't mind spending time at home, playing in the garden, going for walks, bike rides.. I've been raising my son according to the principles of mild parenting (or at least, I try) so that means I believe in boundaries but not in punishments. Ideally, I would like to find someone who has a similar view.. I've noticed over time that people especially react to this point and expect my house to be peaceful and calm at all times.. it isn't! My son is very much a typical loud, energetic and sometimes moody but very sweet and sensitive four year old boy.
I'm a textile artist (and a writer) so anyone with an artistic affinity would be even better :) but it's not a necessity.Languages spoken

We have a spare room with a double bed available for you. The bathroom would be shared with us.
We live in a village close to Antwerp, we don't have pets, it's free-standing house and we have a sizeable garden. The neighbourhood is green, quiet and nice but also well located. Everything you would need is close-by (e.g. supermarkets) and I would be able to provide you with a bicycle. There's a good bus connection to Antwerp too. What else ...
The city of Antwerp is 20 km away (with an international trainstation, connecting to France and The Netherlands)
Brussels is 60 km away (with an international train station to Germany, UK), Amsterdam is two hours away. The airports of Brussels, Eindhoven and Antwerp are all within an hour drive. Belgium is pretty centrally located in Western Europe, so it definitely gives you options to explore surrounding countries
And lastly, I expect anyone staying over to be clean, hygienic, emotionally mature and responsible.A little more information
