The Hostel has been operating in Tulum for almost 20 years. It was started by a backpacker and offers all of the things that a backpacker is looking for; book exchange to bar and from free breakfast to an incredible kitchen and free caipariñas every night. You name it; we have it.
We even offer up to two yoga or meditation classes per day by keeping at least two yoga instructors on the volunteer staff at all times.

The hostel is located in the Ruta Maya. There are not only ancient ruins in the area but a good portion of the local population are Modern Maya. You still hear Mayan spoken in the streets, although this is mainly older generations some young people speak and understand some Mayan. Many of our staff are off Mayan decent.

Staying for a longer period of time in Tulum one becomes aware of the diversity of the area. Tulum is Mayan, Yucatecan, Mexican with a fair bit of American and European thrown into the mix.

So no matter if you want to discover how the modern Maya live, study Spanish or even French, do yoga, meditate or just hangout on the beach and chat with local fishermen. Tulum offers a plethora of opportunities both cultural and educational..

So if you are a cooking aficionado or a trained chef you will definitely appreciate our kitchen. We sometimes organize cooking demonstrations to try to get all of our guests interested in cooking.

We always welcome volunteers that can help with entertaining guests in the evening, with Karaoke, DJ Skills, Party Games, lead yoga and meditation sessions, teach Salsa...……………..
