Low impact off-grid smallholding with woodland and meadows in Cardigan Bay, West Wales. Our family of four, with two sons age 12 and 8, are creating an ecological haven under Wales' pioneering sustainable planning scheme 'One Planet Development'. This includes using renewable energy, harvesting rainwater, growing most of our own food, build a home from natural and more local materials, minimising waste and creating a land based livelihood. We welcome volunteers seeking to contribute and learn about living far more sustainably than is the norm at this beautiful and peaceful part of the UK.

Travellers will gain perspectives on living a simpler, more sustainable life and gain an insight into land management based on Permaculture principles. We are currently building a natural material home from straw bale and timber and it may be possible to participate. West Wales is a beautiful and quiet part of the British Isles with an interesting and rich history. Staying at Pencoed will give you an insight into both the landscape and culture here.
We need assistance with tree care, clearing paths, preparing new vegetable beds, carpentry, chopping and preparing wood from our forest, and general land based activity.
Accommodation in caravan or camping, bedding provided if required. Tasty vegetarian food and refreshments are provided and you can also participate in the preparation. Basic facilities onsite: toilet, hot shower, cooking, solar powered electricity for charging phones, batteries etc.
There are regular buses running between here and the train network in Carmarthen. Local beaches in Cardigan bay only 4 miles away. Woodland nature reserves either side of our entrance. River Teifi is 1/2 mile down road with good kayaking and canoeing.
