  Hi,
  
  we’re Leslie and Alice. We live with our two children on a beautiful piece of land filled with olive trees, banana plants, fruit trees, a few chickens, and an indefinite number of cats.
  
  It’s located on the southern coast of Crete, nestled within the Preveli Nature Reserve, surrounded by rivers, gorges, a waterfall, a palm forest, and unique flora and fauna.
  
  We live off-grid, embracing a slow way of life with lots of time spent together, caring for our children and the land. Our days are filled with swims in the river, music, wind, delicious food, forest school adventures and evenings spent gazing up at the stars (the night sky here is absolutely incredible) ... with the occasional foray into Greek village life.

  We met through Couchsurfing, and since we have family and friends in Italy and the Netherlands, we’re very used to hosting people — and we really love it!
  
  During your weeks here, we can cook together, play music, and chat in an unlikely mix of languages :)

  Au Pair Help

  Help

  We are looking for two people (ideally a couple, as they will be sharing the same room) to help us during the month of November with the olive harvest and with the children. More specifically:
  
  Olive harvesting: 4-5 hours/day, 5 days of work and 2 days off.
  - We have an olive grove with around 90 trees. We are not a business,we produce oil for your own consumption. You will be helping us with the harvest (usually 4 days of help followed by one day off, although this depends on the weather). It’s a beautiful "job", surrounded by sunshine and nature, but it also takes energy and commitment. We love doing it and put a lot of care into it, so we’re looking for people who are happy to do the same.
  
  Babysitting: 4-5 hours/day, 2 days off, ideally at the weekend, but we'll try and make it coincide with the breaks of the olive harvesting
  - Helping us look after our children, who are 4 and 1. Leslie takes care of the olive harvest, while Alice works from home for about half the day, so we would need you to look after the kids during the other half of the day.
  
  Our 4-year-old speaks English, Italian, Dutch and Greek. Any other language is more than welcome too, as long as you speak at least one of these languages so you can communicate with her.
  
  Together with a few other families in the area, we have a small forest school project. If you have any talents or skills you’d be happy to share — juggling, theatre, circus arts, drawing, sewing, storytelling, creating things with natural materials… or anything else! — you could occasionally join in with the forest school activities. We’d absolutely love that!

  Accommodation

  You’ll have a small, super cozy one-room wooden cabin to yourselves. Alice uses it as her office during the day, but the rest of the time, including at night, it will be all yours. It has a desk, a bed and a library
  
  It’s separate from our house (about 200 metres away), so you’ll have your own privacy, and it also has an outdoor shower. The kitchen and bathroom are in our house and will be shared with us.
  
  As for meals, we can sometimes eat together, but of course you’ll be free to cook and eat on your own whenever you like. The fridge is always full, and the kitchen is spacious and easy to use.

  What else ...

  In your free time, you’ll have the chance to explore this beautiful area, that for most people is a holiday destination. It has amazing beaches, traditional villages, goerges for hiking and it's close enough to the main cities of the island. We have a bike and two cars, and we’ll be happy to let you use one of them.
