Description
Hi! I'm Renato, founder of a non-profit organization based in Aljezur, Portugal, dedicated to inclusive and adaptive surfing. Our mission is to make the ocean accessible to everyone, especially people with disabilities, by offering free adaptive surf lessons, providing beach accessibility, and promoting ocean literacy, community engagement, and environmental awareness.
We are located in Praia de Monte Clérigo, in a stunning natural park, where we run regular surf sessions and inclusive beach activities during the summer. Our work blends sport, social inclusion, and sustainability.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Volunteering with the non-profit organization is a chance to be part of a beautiful and inclusive local project that brings people from different backgrounds together through the ocean. You’ll experience real connection with the local community in Aljezur — a small village full of nature, surf culture, and friendly people. It’s also a unique opportunity to learn about inclusive and adaptive surfing, accessibility, and social impact work. Your daily life will unfold by the beach, in a stunning part of Portugal's Southwest Coast, surrounded by natural parkland. Along the way, you’ll be able to practice Portuguese, share your own culture, and meet people from all over the world who come to support or participate in our activities.
Help
The main focus of your help will be supporting beach accessibility for people with disabilities. You’ll assist individuals with reduced mobility in safely reaching the water and provide information about accessibility and inclusive surfing to visitors and beachgoers.
In addition, you may support our adaptive surf classes by helping prepare equipment, assisting instructors, and encouraging participants. You could also help maintain the accessibility station by keeping our beach base organized, clean, and ready for daily use.
We’re looking for caring and motivated people who are comfortable working outdoors, enjoy helping others, and believe in making the ocean more inclusive. No previous experience is required — just empathy, reliability, and a willingness to learn.
We are now just looking for volunteers in the Summer time (from June to September).Languages

You’ll stay in a private room in my house, just a 3-minute walk from the beach of Monte Clérigo ao Amoreira. The house has shared bathrooms and kitchen, and offers a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, ideal for resting after active days by the sea.
I’ll do the grocery shopping, and you’re welcome to use the kitchen to prepare your own meals. We keep things simple, flexible, and respectful of each other's routines.
You’ll have everything you need for a comfortable stay, and the ocean is always just around the corner. What else ...
We are based in Aljezur, a small village in the southwest of Portugal, surrounded by nature, waves, and good energy. The area is peaceful and ideal for those who enjoy a close connection with nature, a simple lifestyle, and meaningful work. The weather can vary, so it’s a good idea to bring sun protection and a warm layer for cooler mornings or windy afternoons. We recommend that volunteers have travel insurance and feel comfortable with physical activity, as some tasks involve moving on sand and working under the sun. The minimum stay is usually between one and two weeks, but longer stays are welcome if we’re a good fit.
